CUTE | Kunsthal Rotterdam

CUTE | Kunsthal Rotterdam

Jul 5–Nov 23, 2025 (UTC+1)
Rotterdam
Exhibitions
Why do we swoon over baby faces, stay glued to screens showing fluffy kitten videos, and collectively communicate through emojis? This summer, discover the seductive and sometimes confusing universe of CUTE at Kunsthal Rotterdam, an exhibition that shows how cuteness has both conquered and deregulated our world. In this time of fast online stimuli, being cute is not just attractive, but also a powerful tool to manipulate, comfort, or provoke. Dance to sugary beats in the Hello Kitty disco, transform into an anime character in the installation Glimmer, or dress up tiny digital monsters in the game arcade. Especially for CUTE, JimmyPaul designed a dress to celebrate Miffy’s seventieth birthday. From Japanese kawaii to funny memes and futuristic design: CUTE immerses you in an ultra-cute experience.

The Grand Tour – Destination Italy | Mauritshuis Museum

Hague
Exhibitions
"The Grand Tour - Destination Italy" takes you back to the 17th and 18th centuries, when young British aristocrats embarked on multi-year journeys through Europe to complete their studies. Italy was their ultimate destination. They loved bringing back tangible souvenirs of their English country homes—not photographs or postcards, but portraits of themselves, Roman statues, or magnificent cityscapes. These "souvenirs" will be on display at the Mauritshuis for the duration of the exhibition. We have been granted permission to loan artworks from English country estates such as Burghley Hall, Holkham House, and Woburn Abbey. Will you join us on the Grand Tour? Visit the exhibition for a chance to win a trip to Rome, every Grand Tour enthusiast's ultimate destination.

The CPC Loop Den Haag (abbreviated for City-Pier-City Loop) is an annual half marathon competition held in the Hague, Netherlands, every March. The inaugural edition was held in 1975 and featured a 14.5 km course. This was extended to the half marathon distance the following year. The competition has been used as the Dutch half marathon championships on a number of occasions. The course is a relatively flat one, which lends itself to fast times for athletes. The most successful athletes of the CPC race are both Dutch: Carla Beurskens and Marti ten Kate have both topped the podium on four separate occasions. In its earlier editions, Dutch and other Europeans were the most successful athletes. From the 1990s onwards, this changed due to the rise of African, and particularly Kenyan, runners. Kenya’s dominance was highlighted by a ten-year undefeated streak in the men’s race from 2001 to 2010.This family event held in The Hague attracts thousands of participants and spectators each year. This fast NN Half Marathon will garner considerable interest both nationally and internationally. But it offers far more than that. The NN CPC Half Marathon The Hague has become a true tradition. It also hosts the Netherlands’ largest school run, with thousands of children participating from almost 100 schools.
