Williston Basin United Way has partnered up with Strike Zone for this 9 Pin Bowling Tourney. Each team will bowl 3 games. A trophy will be awarded to the winning team. Join the exciting 3-day Red Cross lifeguard training - blended learning program in Verdugo Hills. This engaging course is perfect for individuals who want to learn life-saving skills while enjoying the poolside atmosphere. The training consists of 7 hours of blended learning prior to the class, followed by in-person sessions on November 20th, 21st, and 22nd. The class will run from 8am to 4:30pm on the first two days and from 8am to 12:55pm on the last day. It is important to note that participants must be available for all days and times listed. To be eligible for the class, participants must be at least 15 years old by the last day of the course. Additionally, a blended certificate of completion is required to participate in the in-person sessions. This certificate can be presented either in printed hard copy or electronically via smartphone. Water proficiency is a crucial prerequisite for the lifeguard training. Participants will be required to pass a series of swim tests, including a nonstop swim of 300 yards, 2 minutes of treading water, and a timed weight-retrieval drill. Refunds are available for cancellations made up to 7 days before the start of the first class. However, no refunds will be given within 7 days of the training. It is highly recommended to condition oneself ahead of the class, especially for those who are not used to swimming. All necessary lifeguarding equipment will be provided during the course. Upon successful completion of the training, participants will have the opportunity to apply for a lifeguard position with Happy Swimmers without the need for an interview.
