Join the Events Team at Killington as a volunteer for the Mini Shred Madness rail jam! By helping out, you can receive a FREE Killington day lift ticket. This is an incredible opportunity for all groms out there! Come and join us in the park for a chance to win some amazing prizes in a friendly and enjoyable atmosphere. The Mini Shred Madness event is designed to provide young skiers and riders (13 years & under) with a taste of park riding and an understanding of park rules and navigation. This competition is all about having fun while showcasing your skills. Plus, there will be plenty of free giveaways for all participants. The Events Team is currently seeking volunteers for two crucial roles: Registration and Runner. As a volunteer in the Registration area, your responsibility will be to greet and check in participants. Additionally, you will ensure that all registration forms are completed accurately, collect signed waiver forms, distribute competition bibs and shirts (if necessary), and provide competitors with event information. For the Runner role, please be prepared to work outdoors as the tasks may vary. Dress appropriately and bring the necessary equipment. We will be working on the hill and throughout the terrain park in the Lil' Stash, so bring your ski or snowboard equipment, as well as extra layers, hats, gloves, facemasks, etc., to stay warm. Your duties will primarily involve setting up, taking down, and transporting various items, such as fencing, tents, race gates, signage, wind flags, and banners. Please note that you may be required to carry 15-20lbs while skiing or snowboarding, so make sure you are comfortable with this. As a volunteer, you will receive a lift ticket to return to Killington for each shift worked. These lift tickets are valid for one year from the date received. Additionally, lunch will be provided for every shift worked. To be eligible to volunteer, you must be at least 18 years old. Please complete the Express Assumption of Risk form before arriving for your volunteer shift. Sign-ups will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis, and you will receive a confirmation email (including the required Express Assumption of Risk form) upon sign-up. Mini Shred Madness at Pico 2024 is an exciting event calling all groms, young skiers and riders aged 13 and under, to join in the park and compete for fantastic prizes. This friendly and fun environment provides an opportunity for groms to showcase their skills in park riding and familiarize themselves with the park's rules and navigation. Participants will have a blast in this competition setting while also having a chance to win amazing giveaways. The event will take place at the bottom of Exhibition at Pico Mountain in Mendon, Vermont. Registration will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. on the 2nd floor of the Pico Base Lodge. The entry fee for all divisions is $20. Please note that registration will not be accepted after 10:00 a.m. on the event day. All participants must have a parent or guardian complete an Express Assumption of Risk form for them, which can be filled out in advance. There are two divisions: Super Grom for ages 9 and under, and Grom for ages 10 to 13. Super Grom division is specifically designed for first-time park riders, both boys and girls. The Grom division is open to those with park-riding experience, again for boys and girls. All participants are required to wear a snow sports helmet that is properly fastened during all practice, inspection, and competition. It is important to inspect the course/venue before each event and stay within your skill and ability levels.
