Learn the fundamentals of shooting pistols in the exclusive New Shooter Only Pistol Course at the Rock County Rifle & Pistol Club in Milton, WI, USA. This in-person event is specifically designed for beginners seeking to improve their pistol skills. The course is led by Art Hattersley, an experienced NRA Certified Pistol and Rifle Instructor, as well as a Certified Refuse To Be A Victim Instructor and USCCA Certified Firearms Instructor.
During the 3-hour class, participants will gain hands-on experience and enhance their understanding of firearm safety rules, proper pistol operation and handling, as well as techniques for clearing, loading, unloading, and firing their pistol. Additionally, attendees will learn the basics of marksmanship, including proper grip, shooting stance, and range safety protocols.
Upon completion of the course, students will receive a certificate of completion. The class accommodates a maximum of 4 students and requires a minimum of 2 to proceed. The cost to enroll is $30, and participants must be at least 21 years old.
To come prepared for the training, students should bring a semi-automatic pistol (preferably in 22lr, .380ACP, or 9mm), 50 rounds of pistol ammunition, 2 pistol magazines, range-appropriate clothing, eye and hearing protection, water and snacks, as well as a notebook and pen/pencil. A positive attitude and eagerness to learn are also encouraged.
