The Cuyahoga Valley Art Center cordially invites the public to attend the Artist Reception for the highly anticipated 42nd Whiskey Painters of America Exhibition & Art Sale. This event will be held at the prestigious Cuyahoga Valley Art Center Inc, located at 2131 Front Street, Cuyahoga Falls, OH 44221. Taking place on September 22, 2023, from 5:30 to 7 PM, this exhibition promises to be a captivating showcase of the exquisite miniature paintings created by the esteemed Whiskey Painters of America (WPA). Founded in 1962 at the legendary Tangier Night Club in Akron, Ohio, the WPA has been dedicated to advancing the art of miniature painting for over six decades. Running until October 5, 2023, this exhibition will feature the largest collection of Whiskey Paintings available for purchase in a single location worldwide. These unique watercolor miniatures, measuring no more than 4" x 5" in size, are created using alcoholic spirits instead of water, resulting in breathtaking works of art. Attendees will have the incredible opportunity to witness live Whiskey Painting Demonstrations during the Artist Reception, while indulging in complimentary hors d'oeuvres and beverages. Additionally, participants can engage in the People's Choice selection process starting from August 29th, where they can vote for their favorite paintings. The top three paintings with the most votes will be recognized and awarded during the Artist Reception. Attendees can also purchase raffle tickets, starting at a minimum price of $10, for a chance to win a coveted Whiskey Painting and contribute to the CVAC's Vibrant Palette Scholarship Fund.
