This course allows artists to dive into the world of linocut printmaking and experiment with different techniques inspired by their preferred subject matters. Linocut is a relief printmaking method where artists carve an image onto a lino block. The ink is applied to the surface, and the image is transferred onto paper. This playful medium allows artists to showcase their creativity by experimenting with various inking techniques, resulting in a stunning array of prints. Throughout the course, participants will learn how to prepare their lino plates, safely use cutting tools, create different marks and textures, and explore registration techniques. They will also delve into more advanced techniques such as reduction and jigsaw linocut. Additionally, attendees will receive valuable tips on how to print at home.
