The BZPMC invites volunteers to participate in the Soccer Complex Clean Up event at Salinas Regional Soccer Complex on May 28, 2024, from 5:00 PM to 6:30 PM. The address is 1440 Constitution Boulevard, Salinas, CA 93905. Parking passes will be validated for volunteers who park in the parking lot and walk towards the Blue Zones Project flag. It is recommended to wear comfortable clothes and shoes, a hat or sunscreen, and bring a trash picker, plastic gloves, and water. Tonatiuh, Danzantes del Quinto Sol, proudly presents Desde la Raíz, an event that showcases our beloved children's and youth programs, Tonatitos. Tonatiuh, Danzantes del Quinto Sol, was founded in 1992 in Salinas, California. Directed by Dr. Ramón Silva Ruelas, Tonatiuh is committed to promoting cultural appreciation and awareness through dance. Tonatiuh’s children's program, better known as Tonatitos, was established in 1994 with the goal of strengthening children's connections to their culture, heritage, and community. Currently, there are two Tonatitos groups at each of 14 schools in the Salinas Valley. Recently, the program was expanded to include youth from two middle schools, with the goal of expanding to more schools. Come to our third annual festival featuring Tonatiuh, Tonatitos, and Tonateens. Special Kids Connect's REACH Badminton is a low-impact, full-body workout that has been shown to improve hand-eye coordination, support social skill development, and enhance cognitive skills. AND it's a lot of FUN! Join us! REACH Badminton will take place for 2 weeks beginning Tuesday, June 10 and running through Thursday, June 19 from 4:00 pm - 5:00 pm. Enrollment is open to children and young adults ages 10 and up! The registration fee is $60. Space is extremely limited! Register early to reserve your spot.
