Have you ever wondered what happened after the last page has turned in your favourite story? In this serious drama, the fairy-tale world is under a curse: Sleeping Beauty has insomnia, Snow White is on the verge of insanity, and Cinderella has lost her faith in magic. These and other fairy-tale characters have gathered in a castle for protection from a dragon which threatens to bring their ever after to an unhappy end. Into the midst of their despair steps a mysterious knight. The castle is divided: some think the knight will slay the dragon others doubt salvation is possible.These adult characters must face their own frailty, rediscover lost faith, and witness the power of the Storyteller. 23 November - 30 November 2024 OPENING EVENT: Saturday 23 November, 5:30 - 9:00 PM The Burleigh Art Hub is excited to present Untethered, our first group show curated by Michael Podles (previously of Graphis Gallery Woollahra, Sydney). The exhibition, featuring the works of 18 local Gold Coast artists, gathers artists from all walks of life, age groups, and life experiences. Their works communicate a range of ideas and issues captured through a variety of subject matter while being showcased across a variety of mediums and scales. Featured in the exhibition will be a selection of both 2D and 3D approaches with artists celebrating creative freedom, independent approach and courage. Courage to pursue the process and to express the world as they see it, free from stylistic constraints. As part of the human spirit, we search for meaning through discovery, invention, expression and change. Through this diverse showcase, we hope to remind audiences of the never-ending search for meaning in our lives and that each of us has something valuable to say and share.
