AthFest is an annual, free, three-day festival celebrating the vibrant creative culture of Athens, Georgia, bringing together local and surrounding musicians and visual artists. Every year at AthFest, thousands flock to the historic streets of Athens' downtown to enjoy live music across a wide range of genres, explore local art, and soak in the unique atmosphere of one of America's coolest cities. Locals and visitors alike come together for a vibrant celebration of music, art, food, and fun. The festival includes three free outdoor stages offering live music performances; a one-block-long artists' market featuring dozens of visual artists, artisans, and creators; and a one-block-long children's area ensuring even the youngest fans can enjoy the music and art! Following the free outdoor stage performances on Friday and Saturday nights, the official AthFest Club Parade begins. Various music venues and clubs will take turns presenting exciting performances, primarily featuring local music.

A beery, artsy and laid-back college town roughly 70 miles east of Atlanta, Athens has an extremely popular football team (the University of Georgia Bulldogs), a world-famous music scene (which has launched artists including the B-52s, R.E.M. and Widespread Panic) and a burgeoning restaurant culture. The university drives the culture of Athens and ensures an ever-replenishing supply of young bar-hoppers and concert-goers, some of whom stick around long after graduation and become ‘townies.’ The pleasant, walkable downtown offers a plethora of funky choices for eating, drinking and shopping.With that being said, the Athens, Georgia Half Marathon is the place to be!!AthHalf packs all that Athens has to offer all in one exciting half marathon course, including a run through UGA’s iconic Sanford Stadium, Athens’ historic districts, and live music from local Athens bands! And it’s all to help raise money to support music and arts education for K – 8 youth.!
