Tokyo German Village Winter Illumination 2025-2026 | Sodegaura
Celebration
The Tokyo German Village Winter Illuminations 2025-2026 will be held from November 1, 2025, to April 5, 2026, at Tokyo German Village in Chiba Prefecture. The village is centered around a spacious lawn plaza, featuring gardens and various attractions. The Tokyo German Village Winter Illuminations is a signature winter event at Tokyo German Village, bathing the vast grounds in a dazzling display of lights.
The 20th annual event, held in 2025 under the theme "Light and Art," will transform the entire venue into a dazzling art museum. In addition to admiring otherworldly light art in various areas, there will also be an exhibition of famous paintings. From the observation deck, visitors can see a "geographic map" painted with light, showcasing masterpieces such as Leonardo da Vinci's "Mona Lisa," Edvard Munch's "The Scream," and the melting, distorted clocks that appear in Salvador Dalí's "The Persistence of Memory," all rendered in eye-catching pops of color reminiscent of American comics.
Don't forget to admire the 3D illuminations, which can only be seen from a Ferris wheel. As the cable car ascends, a marine-themed "Coral Reef Paradise" opens into view. Large whales, bluefin tuna, clownfish, sea turtles, and more gracefully swim above the illuminated surface, creating a truly unique spectacle.
From November 8, 2025, to January 12, 2026, a Christmas market will be held at Marktplatz, an indoor venue where you can savor German cuisine. Choose from a variety of limited-edition items and hot dishes to immerse yourself in the Christmas spirit. From November 29th to December 31st, 2025, a drone show will light up the night sky with 500 drones. The highlight is the integration of the light show and the drones, which will shine like constellations and draw patterns and words. You can enjoy the show from Market Square to Lawn Square.
