The Great Indian Carnival is not a club night, not a banquet hall event, not a parking-lot mela. It's a full-scale country carnival held on the grounds of Strathmere — a 200-acre pastoral estate just outside Ottawa that's been hosting weddings, retreats and getaways since 1979, on land that's been a working farm since 1825. We've booked the whole property for August 2. You get the 1860s stone farmhouse, the restored 1860s barn, century-old walnut trees, organic gardens, a butterfly garden that catches the monarch migration, walking trails, fire pits — all of it — for nine straight hours.
