Reverend Robert Jones, Sr. is a true renaissance man, with a career spanning over four decades as a professional musician. His passion for the blues led him to bring his music into schools over 35 years ago, encouraged by the legendary blues man, Willie Dixon. In 2007, his work as a leading blues educator was recognized by The National Blues Foundation.
Beyond his musical talents, Reverend Robert Jones, Sr. has also served as a Pastor for more than 20 years and has become a nationally recognized storyteller. His unique blend of speaking and musical skills allows him to educate, entertain, and inspire audiences. His message celebrates our cultural diversity, emphasizing the importance of embracing and honoring different backgrounds.
Based in Detroit, Michigan, Reverend Robert Jones, Sr. has not only performed extensively throughout the United States, Canada, and Europe but has also recorded six albums of original and traditional songs. He has been featured on award-winning radio programs and has taught music history courses at Wayne State University.
In recent years, Reverend Robert Jones, Sr. has taken his talents beyond the stage and into the realm of education and community-building. He co-founded "Common Chords", a 501(c)(3) educational organization that uses music and the arts to create connections and foster cultural understanding.
