Players can choose to burn their character's aspects to succeed at critical moments, although this brings them closer to their character's demise. Collaborative storytelling is at the heart of 10 Candles. Players work together to overcome challenges and horrors, crafting a memorable and emotional narrative. The goal is not to "win" but rather to tell a compelling story about the characters' struggles and inevitable fate. The game reaches its climax when all ten candles have been extinguished, or when all characters meet their tragic ends. These final moments often lead to dramatic and emotional resolutions.
