James Bennett - Home Concert | Rancho Relaxo, Palmwoods
May 30, 2025 (UTC+10)
Sunshine Coast
We are so happy to welcome back James for his third Home Concert! James Bennett is an independent solo artist & multi instrumentalist from Port Macquarie NSW. An experienced, prolific songwriter & one who believes in writing for a purpose & not just for the sake of trying to hit the big time. James grew up on an ‘off the grid', isolated farm just inland of Byron Bay where his parents raised him listening to nothing but Bob Dylan. He would sneak his dads guitar from the cupboard & imitate Bob Dylan, singing every word to every song. He even made a harmonica brace out of an old wire coat hanger so he could play the harmonica & guitar at the same time! James has been writing songs since he was in primary school but what really got him into music as a career was a chance open mic night that revealed to him just how addicted he would get to playing live. Fast forward a few years & he was playing all over Australia weekend to weekend! James has been playing live & recording for over ten years, released four studio albums & shows no signs of slowing down any time soon. Over the years James has warmed up the stage for much loved Aussie artists such as Diesel, Daryl Braithwaite, Jeff lang, The Whitlams, Wendy Matthews, Ian Moss, The Black Sorrows, Vika & Linda Bull, Mental As Anything, Rick Price, Rai Thistlethwayte & Dan Sultan. This impressive list also extends to some well-known international artists like Newton Faulkner (UK) & Canned Heat (USA) James has graced the stage at many festivals across the country as well including 'Sydney Blues & Roots Festival', Airlie Beach Festival of Music’, ’Grow your Own', ‘Wingham Akoostik Festival', 'Festival of the Sun' & 'Wildwood' just to name a few! Limited numbers so bookings are essential! $30 per person - includes all food and entertainment. BYO drinks. https://jamesbennettmusic.com/home

Tickets are $20, available from Eventbrite, the Sunshine Coast Arts Centre (Wed-Sun, noon-4pm) or at the door. Delectable treats and beverages will be on offer, with donations graciously accepted.

Next up is a Saxophone Quartet formed in 2024 based on the theory if one is great then four must be fantastic! This melodic and sometimes excitable group is comprised of Graham Ord, Karen Graves, Ken Grunenberg, and Jack Davis.
After a brief intermission, Michael Gurney, local promoter of the local art scene and public speaker, will be reading some of his original poetry.
To close the night and a powerful way to end the 2025 Artesia season will be the soul-baring voice of Kiki Connelly and the Understory with Anna Lumiere on grand piano and James Meger on upright bass offering gorgeous soul and R&B tunes.
A big thank you to all our 2025 musicians, volunteers, and audience for another amazing series of the Artesia Coffee House and we will see you again in the early months of 2026.

2 night REJUVENATION RETREAT Fri May 9 to Sun May 11, 2025 | Pacific Peace Retreat
May 9, 2025 (UTC-7)ENDED
Sechelt
Spend 2 nights and 3 days relaxing and exploring and visiting the beaches and Hidden Grove Trails on the Sunshine Coast of B.C. to enhance your connection to mother earth.
Rejuvenate, reset and re-energize yourself with Cynthia's mindset shifting techniques that help you see clearly and feel confident on your journey to manifest all that you align. Get clear on your vision so you can see what's in the way and what to do next.
With a welcome ceremony and intention setting plan laid out we are free to take advantage of the cosy space for healing sessions or venture out for a walk to one of our nearby beaches.
Choose from a menu with soups, snacks and healthy meals included so you don't have to worry about a thing.
You are surrounded by towering cedar and fir trees with all the flora and fauna that comes with it. We are fortunate to see eagle and heron often overhead while other birds and wildlife come and go. Clear skies often mean sparkling stars and planets beyond what you may have seen before.
Just a few steps from the end of our drive, you'll find 100 stairs to the beach. It's rustic and charming with red arbutus trees and ferns that come up to your waist. It's lush and earthy and helps you feel like you made it to where you want to be.
This location is healing in itself and when you commit to doing this, you shift your mind to open and allow yourself to be. We will visit the ancient trees in Hidden Grove Trails and spend time listening to what comes when we sit and connect in forest meditation.
Our healing sessions take you out of body to a place where you can release to feel light and free. Clarity results and your needs are identified. Cynthia guides you through a process to see what you're missing.
It's a love love relationship that Cynthia has with manifesting life and she believes there are 5 key aspects that need to be understood to align with your vision: ENERGY, AWARENESS, RELEASE, BELIEF and VISION. She is here to help you open up to these aspects to align with the energy of what you wish to manifest.
Hosting retreats for the last 11 years, Clinical Hypnotherapist and Reiki Master, Cynthia Miller has added Medical Intuitive Certification and Yoga Teacher Certification to her list of tools she loves to incorporate into her practice.
