Join Bike East Bay at our Family Cycling Workshop at the GoGreen! Mobility Fair at El Cerrito Plaza. This workshop is for kids who are able to ride a bike and are ready to take to the paths and roadways with their parents (suggested grade range 2nd-6th). The event includes instruction on: fitting a helmet performing a bike safety check communicating with other road users riding in a straight line and avoiding obstacles as well as navigating safely through intersections, all while playing fun games! All minors must be accompanied by an adult to participate, both with their own working bikes and helmets. If the class is full, you can be added to the wait list or be notified about future sessions as they are added. Please note: Our family events are for parents and kids to participate in together. Join us for a special fundraising event for the upcoming Michael Hedges documentary Oracle: the Life & Music of Michael Hedges. (in-person and virtual ticket options available) Event includes: • Dinner & drinks with Michael's family, friends, collaborators and fans (in-person tickets only) • A special screening of Michael Hedges LIVE at Finney Chapel, Oberlin College - an unreleased concert film from Michael's 1990 performance in Oberlin, Ohio (with introduction by Josh Fox, Oscar nominated filmmaker of Gasland) • Special presentation about Michael's custom "Kleinberger" harp guitar by luthier Steve Klein • Update about the upcoming documentary Oracle: the Life & Music of Michael Hedges with filmmakers Mischa Hedges & Brendan Hedges, who will show several clips from the in-progress film. Ticket sales from this event will support production of the upcoming documentary, ORACLE: the Life & Music of Michael Hedges (coming in 2026). A donations table will be set up and staffed for tax-deductible donations / sponsorships. Virtual tickets include access to a pre-recorded livestream of the entire in-person program, and access to a live-chat with all online viewers. The virtual program will begin at 7:00pm. VIP tickets include a free drink token redeemable for wine or beer, plus reserved seating, a movie poster, and CD. 7:00pm - Michael Hedges LIVE in concert at Finney Chapel, Oberlin College (1990 concert film) A special pre-recorded introduction by Josh Fox ( Oracle project advisor and Oscar-nominated filmmaker), who was in the audience at Oberlin college during this show! As a young, prospective college student, Josh was in the audience at this show, and vividly remembers it. He chose to attend Oberlin, and during his time there, caught every show of Michael's (Oberlin was a favorite venue), when he would return each year. The show includes a memorable version of "I Carry Your Heart," backed up by Oberlin's "Obertones" student a capella group! 8:00pm - Special Presentation - the story of Michael's "Kleinberger" electric harp guitar Luthier Steve Klein will join us in-person to display the guitar and tell the story of his collaboration with Michael to build this custom, one-of-a-kind instrument. 8:15pm - Update on production of Oracle: the Life & Music of Michael Hedges The film's co-directors Mischa Hedges (Michael's son) and Brendan Hedges (Michael's brother) will give a short update and show clips from the upcoming feature documentary, ORACLE: the Life & music of Michael Hedges (planned release in 2026). 9:00pm - Event Concludes Information Source: TrimTab Media | eventbrite
