The Marriage of Figaro has been called the most perfect of operas, and it's easy to see why, with its glorious overture, stunning arias and ensembles and six wonderful principal roles. The plot is a sequel to our last season's production of Rossini's The Barber of Seville as Mozart continues the story after Count Almaviva's marriage to Rosina, with Figaro now the Count's factotum and he engaged to Susanna. The Count wants to exercise feudal rights over Susanna on the wedding night and the opera revolves around Figaro's attempt to stop this and get the better of his master. It's a hilarious tale of subterfuge and mistaken identity and will have you alternatively in tears of laughter and gasping at the beauty of the singing and music. We have a wonderful cast including Alberto Albarrán as Figaro, the wonderful Enrique Angeles as the Count, our superstar Anabel de la Mora as Susanna and San Miguel favorited Jacinta Barbachano as the Countess.
