Calling all artists & creatives in & around Sunderland! We're hosting our third live 'Show and Tell' podcast recording, and we'd love for you to join us. 'Show and Tell' The recording will be themed like a 'show and tell' event, where you are invited to "step up to the microphone" and share more about your most recent projects / artworks. Building on the success of our previous live recorded podcast episodes, we want to keep developing a space where artists feel in safe company; to share their work, and receive creative critique from other artists. A place to come together with other creatives for conversation, and to celebrate our craft. Two types of tickets: In response to feedback from our first 'Show and Tell' event, we are now trialling two different ticket types: "Bringing Art" - Select this ticket type if you would like to bring your artwork/projects to 'Show and Tell'. (Due to timings, this ticket type is capped at 9 people total.) "Audience" - Select this ticket type if you would prefer to purely listen, and take part in conversation, without bringing your own work. In August, the Sunderland Lit & Phil Society is discussing The Magic of Theatre. In this event, we will dive into the historic relationship of Sunderland and the Theatre, the opportunities and challenges production companies and theatres currently have, and what's in store for students of the illustrious craft. Guests include Theatre Space director Corinne Kilvington, performer and student Kosti Greco, The Royalty's John Appleton, and more to be confirmed. Sunderland Lit & Phil evenings are about promoting local talent, experts, and visionaries to share their work and ideas with you, and of course, give you a chance to voice all your questions to those in the know. We are a not-for-profit, community-led organisation aiming to get Sunderland talking. August's competition - Calling all actors! This month, our competition asks for a scene or monologue of up to 5 minutes. This can be a solo or group performance. Submission details can be found on our socials.
