Concerts Country
Confederate Railroad first rolled onto the national country music scene in the early 90s with its unique style and sound. Headed by founder and frontman Danny Shirley, the former backup band for both David Allan Coe and Johnny Paycheck got their big break by signing with Atlantic Records. The first single from their debut album ("Confederate Railroad") was "She Took It Like A Man". It went to No. 26, a preview of what was to come. "The next two singles, "Jesus and Mama" and "Queen of Memphis" went to the top of the charts. Three more huge hits followed, "Trashy Women", "When You Leave That Way You Can Never Go Back", and "She Never Cried". "Trashy" would lead to a Grammy nomination and become their signature song. That album with six hits and nearly three million sales brought Confederate the Academy of Country Music's Best New Group Award in 1993 as well as numerous nominations from the Country Music Association and the British Country Music Foundation. The second album, "Notorious", produced one of the group's most popular songs "Daddy Never Was the Cadillac Kind" which became a No. One video as well. "Elvis and Andy" and "Summer in Dixie" would further establish the Railroad as one of the most versatile acts in the business. This album would sell more than one million. Their overal totals are 18 charted hits and five million albums sold. From rowdy country to raw emotion, a Confederate Railroad concert today covers a wide range of feelings. Young people will be there rocking to "Trashy Women", while their parents and even grandparents will likely be singing along to "Jesus and Mama". The band plays 100 or so dates each year. Whatever the venue, they are right at home…be it a fair, a club, or a biker show. Shirley, the lead singer and vocalist, and his mates, Mark Dufresne on drums, Mo Thaxton on bass and vocals, Rusty Hendrix on lead guitar and Joey Recker on keyboards and vocals are obviously having fun right along with their appreciative audience. At the end of each show, the band stays around until every fan who wants an autograph, or to pose with the group for a picture or just say "hello" is taken care of. Cultural Experiences
Explore. Experiment. Experience. Ghost Hunters' Dustin Pari has launched an exciting event for paranormal enthusiasts and the spiritually curious. Only 17 spots available! "We are spirits going through a human experience. We are not from here. We do not stay here." - If you have attended any of Dustin's presentations you most likely have heard these words. Based upon this understanding, Spirit Quest with Dustin Pari is a new series of immersive experiences hosted at active locations, where those who are in attendance will look to contact the other side by first looking within and developing their own communicative abilities. We are all spirits, and though it is nice to document such interaction, we need not solely rely upon blinking lights and static-filled boxes to communicate to those beyond. Each event features a various array of expirements, demonstrations, and discussions. Some may be unique to the location. Others may be group focused. All are designed to bring you further into your understanding of yourself, your spirit communication abilities, and the spirit world around us. The end of each event allows for self-guided investigation throughout proper areas of the location, and so if you would like to bring some small amount of handheld investigation equipment, you are permitted to do so. These very limited ticketed events will include moments of soulful exploration, an evolving array of fun investigation experiments, and hopefully- some very special spiritual experiences. The haunted Malvern Manor in Malvern, Iowa has been chosen as the location for this very special event. Snacks and bottled water provided. Schedule: 6:00 PM - 6:30 PM: Check-in (Please do not arrive early. No one will be admitted until 6pm) 6:30 PM - 11:00 PM: Event time. Break included. 11:00 PM - 11:30 PM: Event review and goodbyes. 11:30 PM: Doors Close. N otes: No paper tickets will be shipped. Please provide your ID or e-ticket at check-in. No refunds. Must be 18 and over. Dustin is currently a featured researcher on Travel Channel’s Ghost Hunters (2021 – Current) also streaming on Discovery +. The New England native has become a notable figure in the realm of paranormal research. Dustin's journey into the world of the supernatural began at a young age, fueled by a deep fascination with the unknown. His involvement with Ghost Hunters and Ghost Hunters International allowed him to showcase his expertise and passion for exploring haunted locations alongside other investigators. He quickly became a fan favorite for his affable personality and genuine dedication to uncovering the truth behind reported hauntings. Being on television as a paranormal investigator happened quite by accident, but there is clearly something to be said for accidents being best described as “hard work meets opportunity”. Dustin soon found himself working alongside the best in the field such as ‘The Godfather of the Paranormal’, Mr. John Zaffis, being interviewed by celebrity broadcaster Anderson Cooper (and several other top-notch media outlets) as well as presenting to representatives for animation giant Pixar Studios. Amidst his nonstop schedule, Dustin has also authored a variety of books treasured by readers worldwide. Kaleidoscope: Fragments of my Life , And the Devil Shivered , What’s Next , My Home is Haunted… Now What? and The Complete Approach are just the beginning! He has recently designed a line of adult and children's coloring books entitled Spooky Pages! One of Dustin's most recent notable endeavors is his theater tour titled Ghosts: Do You Believe? This live event combines storytelling, multimedia presentations, and audience interaction to explore the realm of the paranormal in a captivating and engaging format. Through Ghosts: Do You Believe ? Pari continues to inspire curiosity and wonder about the mysteries of the afterlife. Cultural Experiences
This course is designed to get you as involved as possible - this includes identifying, picking and tasting a range of wild species that will be found on the day. There will also be samples of wild food and drink for everyone to get stuck into and a pre-made wild snack! The focus with all of our workshops is on the 4 'F's of Foraging: Fungi, Fruit, Flowers and Foliage . We aim for an array of these elements on every session we run (weather and season permitting!) Event sold out or can't make this date? Head to www.foragebox.co.uk/workshops or view our Eventbrite profile to browse all available sessions. What To Expect Our 'Forage & Nibble' workshops are exactly that: you will spend the day learning how to forage with your tutor and then be treated to a 'wild snack' to put it all into context! These have become our most popular events and are available at numerous locations around the country. DURATION: 3 hours (approx 2.5 hours of foraging and 30 mins preparing and eating your wild snack) We like to keep some elements a surprise for the day, but here is what you can expect from your foraging workshop: a short introduction regarding the safety and format of the day discussions around foraging tips, safety, ethics, etiquette, sustainability and the law a circular walking route taking in different growing environments around the site. Expect a route of around 2-3km predominantly on footpaths a closer look at edible wild species and any poisonous lookalikes by a professional forager a chance to slow the pace of modern life down, meet new people and immerse yourself in a soul-nourishing activity, reconnecting with nature and discovering new flavours small tasters of wild food - this may even include freshly-picked items straight from the wild and a wild snack. Your wild snack might be something we find on the day freshly cooked in the woods, a hunk of homemade sourdough with some wild pickles and preserves, or even a big slice of cake (our tutors are decent cooks too so it could be something even better!) our workshops are run in a welcoming and informal fashion, where attendee questions and contributions are encouraged after the event, you will be sent a follow-up email containing a list of everything we found on the day. Please do not expect photos or descriptions in this email - it is purely a list for reference purposes, and we find it helps people do further research in their own time. Please note: as with most of our events, this is an educational experience and not a 'basket-filling' session . At the end of the session, there may be a small selection of our wild products and workshop vouchers available to purchase (card and cash accepted). This is a recent element of our events after enough attendees made enquiries about it - there is no pressure to buy anything having already bought tickets but sometimes people want a souvenir to take with them! Please speak to your tutor about this at the end. Who Is This Workshop For? These events are perfect for everyone - families, bushcrafters and dog-walkers alike! Nobody is made to feel out of their depth or silly for not knowing what certain things are, so these events suit absolute novices to more experienced hobby foragers alike. We strongly believe that foraging is for everyone , with all demographics welcome, regardless of age, ability, gender or ethnicity. Please read our FAQs further down the page to find out about dogs, children and mobility. IMPORTANT INFORMATION KIT LIST: What to bring with you EMAILS: Please add Eventbrite's email into your safe senders list (via your e-tickets which will arrive immediately) so you can be sent updates and the follow-up email for this workshop. Check your junk folder! If you do not do this, you may end up missing important updates or even cancellation notifications. DIETARY REQUIREMENTS: You will be asked for any dietary requirements when completing your booking. Please note that our workshops may not be suitable for vegans and coeliacs unless you inform us of these dietary requirements in advance - we may use butter or bread, for example. Bookings made within 48 hours of the event start time may not allow for your tutor to cater for specific dietary requirements - please get in touch if this is a concern. Attendees are encouraged to walk, cycle or use public transport to get to the destination. EXACT MEETING POINT: on the grass verge on Barns Rise Google Maps: https://maps.app.goo.gl/N9rN5ZEoSSQ5HLdy9 What3Words: https://w3w.co/rapid.crop.hails PARKING: Parking is limited at this venue and it can be very tight. Please park considerately and as close to the nearby vehicle as possible to allow as many people to park as possible. TOILETS: There are no toilets at this venue but there may be some in a nearby establishment. Please arrive well in time for the start of the workshop, allowing extra time for the distance from your parked car to the meeting point and any toilet trips - we don't tend to wait for late-comers! Your foraging guide for the day should arrive on site at least an hour before the start and will start gathering the group together approximately 15 minutes before the official start time. If you cannot find your tutor around that time, there is a chance you are looking in the wrong place, so please check the event information for the exact location (not the postcode) Signage can sometimes be limited, so keep an eye out for anyone with a foraging basket! Minimum number of guests for this event to go ahead: 8 people PLEASE NOTE: We do not provide guests with a contact telephone number for your tutor. This is for privacy puropses but also because it is impractical to do so - your tutor simply wouldn't be able to take a call whilst with a group. If you need to get in contact, please use the email function via eventbrite or our website . Start getting excited!
