Night Walk at Showa Kinen Park | Akishima
Celebration
From October 30th to November 30th, the "Showa Kinen Park Night Stroll" will be held at Showa Kinen Park (Tachikawa City, Tokyo). The nighttime illuminations will highlight the vibrant yellow and autumn leaves.
This year's highlight is the Bonsai Garden Night Viewing. Established in November 2004, the Bonsai Garden is Japan's first state-run facility for exhibiting mature bonsai trees. This year marks the park's 20th anniversary, and a special Bonsai Garden Night Viewing will be held. To showcase the bonsai at its best, special attention is paid to the colors and lighting, blending traditional Japanese culture with digital technology, such as using large projectors to project moving images.
The annual illuminations of the Katai Ginkgo Trees and the Japanese Garden will continue. The Katai Ginkgo Trees are particularly popular for photo opportunities, featuring a spectacular sound and light show featuring 98 ginkgo trees arranged in a row stretching 300 meters. In addition, the Japanese garden welcomes visitors with "Japanese" touches such as the use of Japanese umbrellas and wind chimes, as well as free Japanese umbrella rentals. Strolling along the pond, you can see approximately 300 illuminated maple trees and snow-covered pine trees. A wonderful view different from that during the day will unfold.
