Potters in the Middle East were the first to embellish ceramics with lustre glazes over one thousand years ago. Inspired by these glittering wares, 20th-century potters rediscovered an ancient and difficult technique with dazzling effect. Renowned ceramicists Sir Edmund Elton, Alan Caiger Smith and Sutton Taylor are among the artists featured.
