Adikous Herkunft ist unklar, die Spuren ihrer Familiengeschichte sind verwischt. Sie weiß nicht einmal, wie man ihren Namen richtig ausspricht. Eines drückend heißen Sommers hält sie es nicht mehr in Paris aus. Adikou fliegt nach Lomé, Togo – dem Herkunftsort ihres Vaters, den sie nicht kennt. Sie weiß nicht, wonach sie sucht, es sind die anderen, die Fragen stellen, Pässe kontrollieren, in den Snacks von Lomé, in Unterkünften, überall. Wer ist dein Vater, bist du weiß oder schwarz oder beides? Wie ist es, als Frau allein zu reisen, sprichst du Ewe, bist du Journalistin, was suchst du hier? Raphaëlle Red wurde in Frankreich geboren und wuchs in Deutschland auf. Sie studierte zunächst Sozialwissenschaften, dann Literatur, und schloss 2020 mit einem Master in Literarischem Schreiben an der Universität Paris VIII ab. Derzeit forscht sie an der Freien Universität Berlin zur zeitgenössischen Literatur der afrikanischen Diaspora. Dominique Haensell ist Autorin, Übersetzerin und Leserin aus Berlin. Sie hat einen Doktortitel zur zeitgenössischen afro-diasporischen Literatur erworben, und ihre Monografie „Making Black History – Diasporic Fiction in the Moment of Afropolitanism“ (De Gruyter) erschien 2021. Ihre Tätigkeit als Mitherausgeberin des Missy Magazine ruht derzeit, während sie an einem autofiktionalen Buch arbeitet.
