Join the Center for Photography at Woodstock (CPW) every Thursday evening for captivating discussions with local and visiting artists. On Thursday, February 29, Néstor Daniel Pérez-Molière will be the featured artist at the "Meet the Artist" event. Pérez-Molière's ongoing work revolves around sparking meaningful conversations surrounding mental health. By creating a safe space for discussion, he delves into contemporary queer culture and homosocial relationships, shedding light on depression and shame. Pérez-Molière aims to destigmatize negative emotions, presenting them as a catalyst for political action rather than their opposing force. The event will be streamed live on CPW's YouTube page at 6 pm. Attendees will have the opportunity to explore new artwork, learn about artistic processes, and connect with fellow artists. The event is open to the public and takes place at CPW's gallery in Kingston, NY. Admission is free, and complimentary coffee, tea, and snacks will be served. Néstor Pérez-Molière, a native of San Juan, Puerto Rico, currently resides in The Bronx, New York. Through photography, performance, drawing, video, installation, and intaglio techniques, Pérez-Molière shares his personal journey, unveiling internal struggles in the pursuit of healing and understanding. With an MFA from Hunter College and a BSc in Botany, he has participated in various mentorship programs and exhibitions.
