Forget what you know about zombies… Far from the world of infectious undead creatures in movies and popular culture, the exhibition takes you to Haiti in pursuit of a real myth. 
While the word “zombie” (nzambi) originates in Africa and refers to the spirit or ghost of the dead, its meaning changed significantly as it crossed the Atlantic during the slave trade, with the fusion of African, Caribbean and Catholic traditional beliefs. In Haiti, the image of the zombie was formed on the margins of voodoo culture, through the practices of its secret societies – especially the Bijango Society – whose judicial role gave it zombified powers. Tried and convicted, the zombie is actually a criminal deprived of his freedom, enslaved and held in a comatose state by his master (bokor). 
Between fact and fiction, the exhibition reveals the reality behind the fear of this iconic “undead creature”. The exhibition explores the construction of myth in the Western collective imagination, from the 1697 novel by French author Pierre Corneille y Blaisebois to George A. Romero’s legendary film Night of the Living Dead.

Notre Dame is worth it. It is one of the most famous attractions in Paris and a must visit attraction. It was rainy today and the queue was long. Very crowded. Enter the interior of Notre Dame, deeply attracted by the exquisite religious works of the interior decoration, statues, murals, tapestries and so on. Taking a lot of photos and reading a lot of religious knowledge. Worth a visit.

Visiting the Palace of Versailles was an amazing experience, but there are a few things to keep in mind. The palace is about an hour away from the city by train. The gardens are super vast, so be prepared for a lot of walking (suggest to rent a bicycle, golf car or take the shuttle train🤔). There is no need to add the musical show to your ticket if it&rsquo;s scheduled during your visit&mdash;it was free when I went on april. Also, bring some food with you, as dining options inside can be limited and pricey.Keep in mind that once your ticket is scanned, you can only enter the palace once. Make sure to explore the entire palace before stepping out. I arrived 2&ndash;3 hours later than my booking time but was still able to enter without any issues. Be prepared for long queues, especially during peak hours.Overall, it was worth the visit despite the minor inconveniences!

I first met the Musee du quai Branly because of architect Jean Nouvel. I was amazed at the clever use of more than 10 architectural surfaces in one building. When I studied architectural surfaces at Penn, I used this building as my case study. Until I really had the opportunity to stand in front of it, this museum has left an indelible impression in my mind since then. Even though I live in New York and have seen various museums around the world, it is the most amazing one for me! The glass, which imitates nature and is specially abstracted, protects the exhibits, connects the inside and the outside, and blurs the boundaries. Walking indoors, I feel like I am brought into the primitive jungle and grassland. The charm of primitive art from Africa, Asia, Oceania and the Americas is magnified and focused. Masts, columns, and textiles are both abstract and completely different from Eastern and Western cultures. Mysterious and lovely. In the evening, the lights and the garden complement each other, adding a bit of agility to the gorgeous red main building at night in Paris. The Eiffel Tower in Paris can be seen from the roof and the ingenious side windows of the building. The symbol of Paris is integrated into the exhibition and becomes a part of it, as if it symbolizes the fusion and penetration of culture. The exhibition is cleverly integrated and projected. Walking out of the exhibition, it feels like walking in the long river of history and time. Thanks to the curators, museums, and architects for carefully presenting the minority cultures, I have the opportunity to see and understand a world and culture that is completely different from my life and growth background.
