"The hotel's location is excellent, very close to the metro station, just a 2-minute walk to the entrance, and a 5-minute walk to Grand Place. The service was fantastic! We were originally supposed to check in the next day, but when we went the night before to ask if we could check in early the next morning and store our luggage, the front desk attendant was incredibly friendly. She offered to let us complete the check-in process that night and just drop off our bags the next morning, which was totally unexpected and a huge help since we were in a rush the following day. The hotel lobby is spacious and offers complimentary fruit tea. Aside from the rooms being a bit small and the facilities a bit dated, everything else was great."

"I highly recommend this hotel! We were heading to Germany midway through our trip and needed to store our luggage for two days, and the front desk staff very kindly accommodated our request. When we returned to pick up our bags, the young lady at the front desk was incredibly responsible; she wouldn't release the luggage without a claim tag, which was reassuring. The hotel rooms are also very spacious, and the amenities are quite complete – they even use Nuxe shower gel! After two weeks of business travel in Europe, this hotel was the warmest and most welcoming. Whenever I'm in Brussels for work, this will be my go-to hotel."

"The hotel's location is absolutely fantastic, right near Brussels' Grand Place – literally a two-minute walk away. There are tons of restaurants and shops nearby, making it super convenient. The room itself was surprisingly spacious, which is a rare find in Europe, and the facilities were great. Having a kettle was a huge plus for us. We stayed for two nights, and the steak restaurant directly across from the hotel entrance was amazing – delicious and not expensive, so it was incredibly convenient to grab a meal right outside. Overall, this hotel offers excellent value for money and I highly recommend it!"

Rooms have free Wi-Fi, flat screen televisions and tea and coffee making facilities. Family rooms are available, as are three rooms for guests with reduced mobility. One of the hotel's highlights is its own waffle van, where you can order the waffle of your choice. "The hotel and rooms are great. The parking is easily accessible and spacious. Ask for a room away from the boulevard, as it's very noisy – that's the only downside. The breakfast is expensive, but it's one of the best brunches we've had on our travels."

Perfect for meetings, our hotel has a large conference capacity and the newest modern technology to host any type of event.

"Fantastic! The breakfast was delicious, and the dining area was beautiful. The room was quite spacious, and a big plus was having a microwave and sparkling water machine. "The nicest budget hotel I ever stayed in. 24/7 free hot drinks, microwave and room size is big enough for 2 people. Hotel staff all are so friendly. Very close to the tram station Bailly. Just one note the way reaching to the hotel is quite a hike, so if you hate hassle with luggage, consider take taxi. But we are totally fine and very satisfied with this hotel. Thanks for making our stay very memorable in Brussels."

Immerse yourself in a whole new hotel experience. Located within walking distance of the Grand Place, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Cardo Brussels is the perfect base for discovering the heart of Brussels. We bring hospitality alive with art, reflection, and a splash of quick wit. In the exciting, colourful capital of Europe, Cardo Brussels beckons you in. We are on a mission to transform hospitality. Our vision is to make city breaks and workcations less apologetic, more purposeful and tuned to the self. We take a full-fat approach to everything, hurtling, not strolling towards life, and revel in every single part of our quirky Belgian culture.

"Service: I'm about to give the worst service review. On my first stay, your hotel's front desk had a Caucasian female employee who initially gave me half of a family suite. Only after I emphasized the room type I booked did she change it for me. The hotel wasn't so fully booked that she couldn't have assigned me the room I pre-booked. Why would you try to pass off a partitioned room as a full one, treating customers like fools? I was extremely angry about this. And it wasn't just the room assignment; the room card she gave me was just a plain power card. Couldn't she provide a proper, decent room card? It's hard for me not to suspect some malicious intent. I hope you can give me a satisfactory explanation. Otherwise, my overall review of this hotel is very positive. The accommodation environment is good, the room facilities are sufficient, the location is great, and transportation is convenient. The room design is also beautiful, and I took many photos. I highly recommend staying here. If I come to Brussels again, I would indeed choose Cardo again. However, the subtle malice from your front desk and the unpleasant check-in experience disappointed me so much that it nearly ruined my entire stay, even though everything else was perfect."

"I am very disappointed with my stay at this hotel, especially considering the price and its 4-star rating. When we checked in, I politely asked if it was possible to have a room on a higher floor. The receptionist responded rudely, saying, “No, you came too late. You should have come earlier.” This was surprising because we arrived at around 3:30 PM, and check-in starts at 3:00 PM. After getting to our room, we noticed there was no hair dryer, even though one was listed as an in-room amenity. I called reception and was told that one would be sent up “in a moment.” We waited for over an hour, but nothing arrived. The most frustrating issue was that the room lights kept turning off every five minutes, and the curtains would automatically close every five minutes as well. This made it extremely difficult to get anything done. We called reception again to report the problem, but the staff member struggled to understand what we were explaining. After repeating the issue several times, he simply said he would send someone to the room and then hung up. Another hour passed, and no one came to help. To experience so many problems within just the first few hours of our stay was incredibly disappointing. For the price we paid and the standards expected of a 4-star hotel, the service and maintenance fell far below expectations. I hope the hotel improves both its customer service and its response to guest issues, as this was not the experience we were expecting."

So close but not so far from the old town or maybe the attractions which is good, if you’re staying inside around the grand palace, it may get noisy so this place is really in a good place so location is very strategic 😘 From the train station (Midi Station), 2 stops away and you can walk to the hotel easily 🫶🏻 This hotel is kinda old so it gives off the old vibes but you got what you need and breakfast is good 😄 everybody is so welcoming ~ if you’re in a budget and still want a good hotel to stay, here is the place 👍🏻 thank you 🫰🏻

We stayed 2 nights and thank god it wasn’t any longer. As much as the bed was a very large bed and comfortable, the surrounding around was grotty. Brussels in general around here was awful. The room was pokey and small, walked into things while staying there. Forget being any bigger than slim, the bathroom was a shoe box! Your back is basically touching the wall, while facing the basin and the toilet roll holder is right in your face when you’re sitting on the toilet and your head almost touching the wall in front of you lean forward. No room for you to dry yourself in the bathroom itself unless you stand in the shower and do it. The hotel itself is beautiful, but lacks in the room which is the important part. Check in and out system is ridiculous. They’ve set up 3 ways to do so. Online via email, in person or on their check in kiosk. The issue with this, is you’re still made to go to reception! What’s the point of saying you can do it all online or at the kiosk if I still have to go to someone at reception? Remove your unnecessary online/kiosk. When checking in, I felt hostility from the staff member when I said I got an email to check in at the kiosk and I’ve already done it, so I didn’t want to waste more time doing it again. Then when I checked out via email, I got a notification to say the city charge was paid and I could leave. Thankfully for the hotel, I needed to drop my luggage and the lady still asked for my room number and said I still needed to pay for the city tax. Another example of a failed online system, just a waste of time. Then when I came back to get my luggage, I found that the tag with the same number was on multiple bags and the girl came out with 2 bags that weren’t mine and eventually had to come in and look for it myself. Apparently they used the same number but the girl gave me the wrong colour tag to my luggage tag. Again, another stupid system. Why are you not using unique numbers? Instead of relying on the same numbers but different colours?! All in all, stay somewhere else. There are nice parts of Brussels, but this area is not it and the closer you are to Brussels Nord station, you’ll feel like you’ve just entered Skid Row. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel or the area. Nice big gym for a hoteland probably the very few positives about the stay.

This hotel is really old... Don't let the five-star rating fool you, it feels more like a three-star. The elevator is incredibly slow, from 1999! The furniture in the room is also very dated. The front desk sells bottled water in glass bottles for 8 euros a pop – ridiculous. As our Belgian client told us, the hotel's location is right between a safe area and an unsafe one. It's close to the light rail, but there's no elevator from the light rail station to the street level, which is quite annoying. Walking to the city center is fairly convenient though. For the price, it offers good value for money; other hotels in the same area are more expensive.

One of the best hotels we’ve ever stayed at. Highly recommend this hotel to everyone; everything was amazing, from location and the staff. You can truly feel the high-quality, star-level service here. Check-in is 3pm and we arrived at 3pm but the room was only ready at almost 4pm. The story was that it was cleaned already but ”awaiting inspection”. We were handed 2 bar coupons with a blithe apology in rapid fire French for our 50 min wait. The vacuuming in the room left much to be desired. When we got into the room on the 1st day, there was a pistachio at the side of the bed. My sister's dust allergy was triggered throughout our 4 day stay. When we opted for housekeeping on the 3rd of the 4 days we stayed, the same pistachio remained there after the cleaning staff were done. Towels and bed linens were refreshed but the coffee/tea and bathroom amenities were not. If you choose the Deluxe twin room like we did, please note that the room is 24 metre square and there is only room to open up one medium sized suitcase on the ground. Our other suitcase had to be accessed via the wardrobe which was spacious enough to keep the 2nd suitcase in. Location wise, it's ideal and a stone's throw from Grand Place - the historic city centre, and many shops and good brasseries. It's a 10 min uphill walk from the hotel to the nearest train station called Brussel Centraal / Bruxelles-Midi which will bring you straight to the Brussels Airport in 17 min on the direct train (1st class carriage €12.10). The buffet breakfast is plentiful and of good quality (with eggs cooked to order) in a nice space with a courtyard view crewed by pleasant staff fluent in English. The bar has a relaxing ambience with an outdoor view and affordable drinks. My guide is always how much the increasingly rare digestif liqueur Chartreuse Verte costs. It was €14 per pour. Note : You get a free coupon for a soft drink/coffee/beer/wine if you pass up on room cleaning. If you have a short stay, you should as there wasn't much cleaning done.

Booked the most basic room there was, as I was there for the F1 weekend, and will not be in the room except at night for resting. The location is nestled nicely between Brussels North Station and the shopping area/Grand Place, so most places that I wanted to go were walkable. I didn't interact with many service staff except when I checked in and out. Shower pressure was poor; it could have been better, considering the water pressure was quite strong. In terms of cleanliness, you could feel the grime on the carpet when walking barefoot. There was mould all over the pillars and walls of the room and toilet, and a musky smell coming from the cupboard. There is also no air-con in the room, when I say no air-con, I don't mean it is spoilt, there simply isn't one, so expect the room to be stuffy, especially on hotter months. I was lucky as the temperature at night was around 16C, so I used the portable heater as a ventilator fan.
