"The B&B's location is absolutely unbeatable, offering the best views. We came to Furong Ancient Town mainly for the scenery, so choosing this place was definitely the right call. Due to its mountainous terrain, the overall cleanliness of Furong Ancient Town is a bit concerning, and the difficulty of getting up and down the hills probably makes maintaining hygiene quite challenging. The ladies at the reception desk of the B&B had a generally lukewarm attitude; we didn't see a single smile from them. The gentlemen, however, were all very nice. The restaurant staff provided great service, and the food tasted good too."

"We took a taxi from the railway station to Fenghuang Ancient Town, as we discovered that DiDi was not available in the area. Showing the driver “风桥 (Fengqiao)” helped identify the correct drop-off point. The journey took approximately 15–20 minutes and cost around 25–26 yuan.
Upon arrival, we were warmly greeted by the hotel staff at the entrance to the ancient town. The hotel was located just a few steps away, making the transfer very convenient.
The room was spacious, clean, and comfortable. One of the highlights was the balcony overlooking the river, which allowed us to enjoy the beautiful scenery and soak in the unique atmosphere of Fenghuang Ancient Town without even leaving the room.
The combination of the excellent location, scenic river views, and attentive hospitality made our stay very enjoyable. We would happily recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Fenghuang Ancient Town."

"Wonderful stay! Everyone was really kind, organized both our airport pickup and the drop off back to the city for free (which we did not expect). And most importantly, spent time to design a one day itinerary for us so we could see the best parts of the park with limited time. The place is only a 5-10 minute walk to the entrance which was awesome!
They also kindly upgraded us to the 360 degree view room, which was incredible. I posted the view from the terrace, really lovely to wake up to this view every morning.
The one thing I would say is bring an eye mask. With all the lovely big windows it does get pretty bright early in the morning. It didn't bother us since we had to wake up early to visit the park.
Overall I'd say it was perfect and pretty much everything we could've wanted"

"Service: The hosts were incredibly welcoming and always greeted us warmly whenever they saw us. The owner even helped us plan our itinerary and offered a shuttle service. He even proactively provided a zippered bag (though I'm embarrassed to say I forgot to return it when we left) to prevent monkeys from snatching our food. The guesthouse has its own restaurant with fresh and unique dishes; we ended up eating there every night, highly recommended!
Environment: The surroundings are superb! Opening the window reveals a stunning mountain view, and there's a small stream downstairs where you can play in the water. There's also an outdoor dining area where you can enjoy the scenery while you eat. On our second day, we switched to a room with a canopy and a balcony, which offered even more expansive views (the fourth picture below shows the view from the window).
Cleanliness and Facilities: The room was spotlessly clean, and the lobby was also very neat and tidy. The facilities were very comprehensive.
Overall, a huge thank you to the guesthouse owners and staff for their warm hospitality. We were very satisfied, and our trip was smooth and enjoyable. I'll definitely recommend this place to others and will choose to stay here again next time!"

"Don’t expect a typical hotel experience in terms of service and amenities. It feels more like a small family-run place, but for this price, I expected much more. Overall, it is very overpriced.
The room itself doesn’t justify the cost at all. In the evening I noticed a hole in the bedsheet, but didn’t ask for a replacement as it was already late. There is also no refrigerator.
The balcony doors don’t close properly, which makes the room cold and lets in a lot of noise. There is no breakfast, no elevator, and you also have to pay an additional park entrance fee. The chairs on the balcony could be more comfortable to actually sit and enjoy the view.
The bathroom is not very cozy and quite cold, and water spreads across the entire floor when showering. Since the hotel and restaurant are combined, there is no proper reception or lobby.
Not a major issue, but I mentioned during booking that it was my mom’s birthday on the day of arrival, and unfortunately, the hotel didn’t acknowledge it at all. Considering the price, expectations are naturally higher. In other places in China, I’ve received much better service for a much lower price.
On the positive side, the view from the balcony is beautiful, and the host is friendly, helped to carry our luggage, offers free pick-up and drop-off to the station."

"Our stay at this lodge was absolutely unforgettable. The views were simply breathtaking, waking up and looking out over such beautiful scenery was an experience in itself. The staff were incredibly friendly, welcoming, and always happy to help with anything we needed, which made the whole stay feel so relaxing and comfortable. Also really close to the park and they even offered a free shuttle to the park.
The food was also outstanding, with every meal being fresh, delicious, and beautifully prepared. Most of all, this lodge was the perfect place to unwind and relax. The peaceful atmosphere combined with the amazing surroundings made it a truly special getaway. We would happily stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing escape with incredible views and exceptional hospitality."

They offer free laundry service, which is fantastic – you don't have to worry about it yourself; your clean clothes are delivered right to your room. The breakfast was excellent and varied, with different dishes every day. The braised pork with preserved vegetables was delicious, and the dry-pot chicken was also exceptionally tasty. The chef was very kind and lovely. ❤️
The afternoon tea and late-night congee were also delicious and exquisitely prepared. Plus, the hotel is only a two-minute walk from the landmarks, which is super convenient! 👍

Guest UserGreat place to stay. Super modern amenities, everything goes seamless from the pickup service, check-in, and chatting with the staffs (you need Wechat). While this place is about 30 minutes away from downtown Zhangjiajie and Tianmen mountain cableway station, you can truly feel being at Zhangjiajie as you get to stay at a place that is surrounded by foggy mountains. Breakfast buffet is complimentary and pretty decent and other Chinese menu that you can order at the hotel restaurant are phenomenal. Overall, it was a great experience and I highly recommend this place to other travelers.

This is a pretty good hotel with a distinct Xiangxi (Western Hunan) style. The owner is very attentive and reached out to me via WeChat a day in advance. Knowing we were a family with two adults and two children, they thoughtfully provided extra pillows and slippers for the kids. Parking is available across the street at the government building, and it's free on holidays. It's also a short walk to the East Gate, which is very convenient. Five-star rating, highly recommend staying here!

The host was incredibly warm and thoughtful, sending detailed check-in instructions in advance and recommending local eateries and sightseeing routes, which saved a lot of hassle. The guesthouse's location is excellent, making it convenient to get around. The common areas are beautifully maintained, creating a fantastic atmosphere. It offers incredible value for money. If I ever visit this city again, I'll definitely choose to stay here again. Highly recommended!

Guest UserI can’t recommend this place enough! Where do I even start? The location is unbeatable—so close to the main gate of the Avatar Mountains. Our room was incredibly comfortable and came with a great view, with every amenity we could possibly need.
But the absolute cherry on top was the marvelous owner. She helped us customize an itinerary based on the exact amount of time we had. She was also incredibly thoughtful regarding my mom’s age (64yo), planning a route so she could fully enjoy the breathtaking views without having to walk too much (which was a lifesaver since the park is massive!). We followed it to the letter and we had the best experience! Don’t think It twice! You won’t regret booking this place!
Thank you so much; without your help, we wouldn't have enjoyed the park nearly as much as we did. I would stay here again in a heartbeat! Gracias ☺️

For the view of the mountains, this stay is so awesome. If you mainly want to see the Zhangjiajie National Park, I really recommend this hotel. For me, I underestimated the amount of time it would take to get to Wulingyuan and Zhangjiajie city. It was a little inconvenient for me because I had to call taxis if I wanted to go out to eat and it was kind of far. A lot of taxi drivers would ask me for a tip because the location was difficult to reach. Apart from the location issue, I really enjoyed my stay. The breakfast was delicious, the staff were so accommodating and kind and even drove me to Zhangjiajie city on my last day. The dogs were so cute and the view of the mountains was stunning. If you want a perfect getaway from the city and stunning views, then this is the place for you. If you want to hangout in the more lively places, it might be kind of a hassle. This hotel is perfect for those who want a peaceful and relaxing getaway.

Guest UserI genuinely recommend the Xiangjiang Hotel! The interior environment is serene, and the retro decorations everywhere are very unique. The afternoon tea offers a rich variety of fruits and desserts. The guest rooms are meticulously cleaned daily, and the butler, Duo Duo, was incredibly responsive to any needs Xiao Xiong had. Next time I'm in Changsha, I'll definitely stay here again.

Fantastic stay with unbeatable service! We had an amazing time at Valley Love Holiday Home. The location is absolutely perfect, making it super easy to get around and explore. Beyond the great spot, the hotel just has really good vibes- it felt incredibly welcoming and comfortable the moment we walked in.
What really stood out, though, was the service. The staff went above and beyond to help us figure out our itinerary around Zhangjiajie. Their local tips and hands-on assistance made navigating the area so much smoother and took a lot of stress off our shoulders. Highly recommend staying here.

Strategic Location for a Relaxed, Crowd-Free Zhangjiajie Experience**
We thoroughly enjoyed our recent stay at this hotel, which proved to be an ideal base for exploring the Zhangjiajie National Forest Park. As travelers who speak a limited amount of Mandarin and prefer a measured pace, we found the experience both rewarding and stress-free.
**Key Advantages & Location**
The hotel’s primary strength is its proximity to the park’s less-frequented entrance. Being situated already ”inside” the park boundary with the ropeway just a 5 to 10-minute walk away is a significant functional advantage. Since the ropeway opens at 8:00 AM, we were able to enjoy a restful morning while still reaching the walking routes well ahead of the mid-day peak.
By commencing our routes from the western side, we effectively moved ”against the crowd.” During our two-and-a-half-day visit, our average wait time for park shuttle buses, ropeways or elevators was approximately 5 minutes. Remarkably, both times we used the Bailong Elevator, we arrived at the gate ”first in line” and shared the cabin with fewer than six people. This efficiency allowed us to explore the park extensively—nearly ”looping” the park twice in a single day—without ever feeling rushed. I originally thought these logistical benefits were due to my decisions, however in hindsight, the location of the hotel was more likely the reason for this outcome.
**Service and Hospitality**
Our host, Kelly, was instrumental in the success of our trip. By communicating our plans early, she was able to facilitate the arrangement of park tickets, transfers, and provides some route suggestions based on her experience. Beyond logistics, we greatly appreciated her willingness to also share some cultural insights, such as the history and pop culture surrounding Wulong Zhai, which added a meaningful dimension to our visit.
**Room and Facilities**
We stayed in the main wing, located above the entrance and dining area. The room features met our specific needs perfectly. We noted that an elevator was in the process of being installed, which will be a welcome addition for future accessibility.
**Points to Consider**
* **Location Focus:** This hotel is perfect for those prioritizing the Forest Park itself. However, if your itinerary includes evening performances like ”Fox Fairy” or the other shows in Wulingyuan, you may find a more central town location more convenient.
* **Environment:** We were never bothered by insects, but guests should be aware that this is a mountain location; the presence of local bugs around the exterior is natural and should be expected.
* **Accessibility:** We had no mobility issues, but currently, access to the main wing requires stairs (until the elevator installation is complete).
**Final Thoughts**
For travelers who value a quiet, informed stay and wish to avoid the typical bottlenecks of the park’s more popular gates, this boutique hotel is an excellent choice. Having the time to engage with local suggestions and move at our own pace made our China trip feel truly personal.

Staying at this guesthouse was one of the highlights of our entire trip to Zhangjiajie. We were traveling with our 4-year-old child, and the main purpose of our journey was to visit Zhangjiajie National Park — and this place made the experience absolutely unforgettable.
From the very beginning, the service was exceptional. The atmosphere feels warm, welcoming, and genuinely family-like. You are treated not just as a guest, but as a truly valued part of the household. Since we were traveling with a child, we were kindly offered a two-bedroom apartment — an incredible gesture that made our stay exceptionally comfortable.
The sleep quality deserves special praise: the bedding, pillows, and blankets are all of the highest standard. You sink into sleep as if you were staying in a top luxury hotel. The interior is beautifully designed — a tasteful blend of East and West, with great attention to detail. Everything, from the bathroom fixtures to the toiletries, is carefully chosen and of excellent quality.
The staff’s kindness and care deserve a separate mention. Our “auntie” was available for us at any moment through a private WeChat group, ready to help with anything we needed. Breakfast was freshly prepared every morning, and the chef is simply outstanding. All meals are Chinese cuisine, cooked with love, and always adapted to our child’s preferences. We ended up having dinner at the guesthouse every night because it felt like home-cooked comfort food.
The location is another huge advantage — only a 5-minute drive to the Southeast Gate of Zhangjiajie National Park, which is the most convenient entrance with the best choice of routes. The guesthouse provided transfers to the park and also arranged our pick-up from the airport in advance.
The property has 17 rooms of different sizes — one-bedroom and two-bedroom apartments, some with terraces overlooking spectacular scenery. The guesthouse is set in a peaceful and picturesque area where you can take short walks, observe local village life, and enjoy stunning views from every angle.
Overall, this place made our trip truly special. It combines comfort, warmth, thoughtful service, and a perfect location.
