It is far from Tobu Niko station and relatively close to the main attractions. Of the pluses, two private onsens can be accommodated in two or three. One is laid out with a tile, the other is stone (used by a great demand, understandable case). If you take the onsen, no one will enter it anymore. To let the guests know whether the onsen is free and which special signal lamps are made, it is convenient. The Onsens work from 16 to 23 hours, so it is impossible to get down in the morning. Like I think, the water is cold and the rooms are closed - I love outdoors.
The breakfast was unexpected, but they are fed exclusively with different baking (for a long time, so many tests have not eaten). It is also possible to buy frozen dishes for cheap and immediately distribute them in a microwave.
In the bathroom and toilet room, the yucata is issued on demand.
A beautiful living room where you can sit in the evening (if not too many guests). Here, where to sit in the street evening, it is not very clear, because near the Onsens there is a smoke zone with shops, but there is not a very nice smell.

It was the perfect place for me to reset and refresh. The hostel is surrounded by beautiful nature and has a hot spring, just what I needed in a getaway from the big city.
The common space is designed beautifully and has two very comfortable kitchens, big fridges, and everything you might need for a comfortable stay.
The staff was very friendly and helpful, one night the hostel even arranged a hot pot dinner. First I stayed in a standard room but I ended up extending my stay here, this time in the women's only dormitory. Both the private room and the dormitory room were very comfortable and had everything I needed.
Long walks was just what I needed but it looks like there's quite a lot to do around if you drive just a little bit, so I would recommend coming by car or renting one at the train station.
I can't wait for my next visit here.

Guest UserWhat an amazing place to stay - Kas and his wife made us extremely welcome and provided excellent restaurant recommendations as well as places to visit.
The rooms were spotlessly clean and the breakfast was excellent (with juice, yogurt, ham and omelette and fruit, plus toast and tea/coffee).
The bedrooms are large and the bed are comfy. The shower was also super clean.
It is uphill from Nikko Tobu station but you can easily get a taxi from the station for 1,000/1,100 (£5/6) which saves carrying the luggage.
Short walk to Kirifuri waterfall which is beautiful and if you’re lucky you’ll get to see the monkeys along the way.
I couldn’t recommend more highly and look forward to coming back in the future!

Guest UserThe owner was incredibly welcoming, offering great tips on famous tourist spots and how to get around. The room was spacious and cozy, ensuring we had a wonderful night's sleep. The morning view from the window was absolutely beautiful. Its proximity to the train station made getting around super convenient and easy to find. The bathroom was also spacious and clean. She even treated us to a delicious and hearty breakfast and gave us a lucky crane charm. I'll truly miss her thoughtful hospitality! 🥰🫶

The guesthouse is quite a way from Nikko town (10-15 mins by bus / 1 hour walk) but is in a good location for getting to the shrines or to Lake Ashi - there's a bus stop close by. The guesthouse was homely and had 2 private onsen. Our room was comfortable enough although the en-suite was very tiny! The host was welcoming but didn't speak any English which meant we had to communicate by translating on our phones. We booked to have breakfast at the guesthouse, but didn't realise that for booking the dinner we needed to give 24 hours+ notice so missed out!

Everything was great! We lived here for three days in April 2024. The hosts are very friendly and attentive. Breakfast and dinner were very tasty and large, so during the day we didn’t even want to have lunch while walking. Everything in the room is clean and tidy. The place is quiet and beautiful. Nearby there is a large supermarket with everything you need. The bus stop to the waterfalls and lake is also very close. There is also a public onsen nearby, we had a good time there too. In general, we really liked everything! Thank you!

Excellent price-performance ratio hotel with the best logistics you can have in Kinugawa. The facilities with garden are fresh, service is top grade. As for onsen, it is separated, but it has only one bath, which is expected from tiny hotels.
The only little nuisance you can encounter is the late night noise coming from opening doors.
Overall the experience was outstanding, I will choose this place again.

We really enjoyed our time here. Location is good. Close to town by car, but out of the hustle and bustle. Onsen is very nice with good temperature while low guest numbers ensure it is never crowded, often allowing a solo experience. Provided breakfast was both delicious and memorable, a great way to start the day and save time hunting for a breakfast spot elsewhere. Staff were friendly and helpful.

Guest UserThe hotel locates nearby Nikko, the world herritage area, just 4 km. from the hotel. Our room is very big, clean, and good maintained. There are 5-6 private onsen rooms, available and enough for guests. The hotel owner gave us warm welcome and services with very reasonable price. Recommend for the one who wants to stay and travel in Nikko!!

Honestly one of my best stays in a while. Felt hospitable, comfortable, snd connected to nature. It feels very mom/pop kind of place which means you dont have tge newest or most common things, but you have options. 10/10 would recommend and stay again!
