Simple budget lodge situated not far from town area, it is walkable, and if want to take a Grab, it's just 4 minutes from the town area. There is a supermarket nearby with some simple eateries. Reception is helpful with the requests made. There is no fridge or electric kettle in the room, however, you can get hot water at the reception. The room is generally clean however the stairway could do a little more cleaning as it was always dusty.

The stay overall was satisfactory until the final day, when I encountered a couple of issues that caused significant inconvenience. On the night of my check-in, I requested an extra pillow as I have lower back pain. However, I ended up waiting for over an hour. When the staff finally came to explain, I was informed that the extra pillow had been given to another guest who had requested it after me. I found this to be unfair and disappointing, as my request was made earlier and for a genuine reason. To make matters worse, on the last day, when I had a flight to catch, there was a complete lack of water on the first floor. This unexpected situation disrupted my preparations and made it quite challenging to get ready for my journey. That being said, I really love the vibes here overall. Plus or minus, I will still consider coming back.

Our stay at Sutera Bay by Pinstay + was extremely pleasant. The atmosphere, view and cleanliness were at a high level. It would be nice if there was soap at the sink in the bathroom so guests might use it after coming in from the street. All the workers were very friendly, but we would particularly like to mention the receptionist Lin who was exceedingly professional and friendly, she got out of the way to make our stay as pleasant as possible. Overall, our stay was okay. The room was clean, and the facilities were decent. However, we were disappointed by the loud noise coming from other rooms at 3 AM, which disrupted our sleep. It would be great if the hotel could improve soundproofing or enforce quiet hours more strictly. Other than that, the experience was fine.

Some may say the bed is hard but for me I slept perfectly. Being on the waterfront we had access to all restaurant's cafes and shops. The negatives would be the drain in the kitchen and the bathroom. I suspect these drains are not sanitised. I overcame this problem by putting the bathmat over one and a bin over the other. This negated the smell. Plenty of storage and also a pull out couch for a small child.

We extended our stay at the Loft for one day as this was very convenient for us to have a cost effective place for our day trips as family. Still the rooms have very limited furniture and the kitchen would require some more equipment like cups, plates… The view from the balcony is actually quite nice. If you are light sleeper and dislike landing airplanes, you may chose another location since the apartment is in the direct landing path of the airport.

The room is large, a total of 3 rooms, each room has a separate bathroom, equipped with washing machine, kitchen utensils, very suitable for family travel. On the edge is the largest Imago shopping mall in Kota Kinabalu, enough to meet daily needs.
