Geraldton backpacker is a nice little historical building that has been repurposed for backpacker stay! The lady at the receptionist was very friendly and welcoming. The shared kitchen is big and well equipped for almost any cooking!

I booked a single room. The location was convenient, just a 10-minute walk from Perth Station. My room was very basic, featuring only a bed, a power outlet, and a table. Toilets and showers were communal. The shared kitchen was quite spacious. However, a significant number of the shared toilets and showers were out of order or had issues.

The room was quite spacious, with an en-suite bathroom, and the bed was very comfortable. It's also conveniently located close to the train station and the commercial center. However, I found it strange that the beds didn't have privacy curtains. The quad room had two single beds and one bunk bed.

A nice hostel not too far from Perth city center. Good things I liked:
- Comfortable mattress, with a small curtain for a little privacy
- Staffs were nice and helpful
- common areas, kitchen, and showers/toilets were cleaned daily
- Plus point: Breakfast included (simple toasts with peanut butter/Jam/choc spread)
- Free coffee and tea (not the best quality but ok)
- near bus stop and grocery (Woolworths)
Not so good things:
- rooms are quite cramped
- no signage outside, bit confusing & hard to find for first timers
- Most of the furniture and kitchen facilities are quite old
- front porch & yard seems messy & unaesthetic
- Price-to-quality ratio: ok
The free breakfast, nice & helpful staff, kitchen space and social areas make this hostel recommendable. However, needs for hostel signage & revamping of all spaces & furnitures would make it a highly recommended hostel.
The reception staff are all incredibly friendly. They accommodate most requests, like towel rentals and exchanging bills for coins, and handle them quickly. Plus, with staff available 24/7, emails and other communications are checked promptly. The facilities were satisfactory, and there are many amenities nearby, so I highly recommend it for backpackers.
It is a cheap and well-located accommodation.
The staff is friendly.
The cleanliness is okay.
The breakfast did not meet our expectations.
Two pancakes per person and coffee included.
Anything beyond that is an extra charge.
Overall, I can recommend the accommodation.
If you don't have too high expectations of comfort and cleanliness.
This place is great good value for money.
But I would think twice before staying here on a Thursday or weekend if you need to sleep which I did. As it’s packed on the weekend and then when pub closed patrons came back to their room and kept partying. When I asked people to shut up I was told basically to “go away” what was most annoying was apparently one of the people making noise worked at the roey. So although I still take the place I just won’t stay on weekends. But overall still good value for money and great service and nice rooms.

The owner is nice.
It’s more like a share-house, well arrangements with public areas.
Not crowded, it’s clean and comfortable.
People there are friendly like friends.
Suitable for short and long stays.

It's in the heart of the city, so it's very accessible. The bathroom is clean and overall it's quiet. The kitchen is in the basement, so you can't hear much noise. Sometimes you can only hear noise from the street at night. I recommend staying here for a trip, but it's a little expensive.

GGuest UserThe host was incredibly kind and quick to respond to all my questions and requests.
The accommodation itself was very cozy and comfortable.
Having Cole Mart, cafes, and restaurants all nearby was super convenient.
But the biggest highlight was being able to walk to the beach in under 3 minutes from the accommodation. It was perfect for staying with my 4-year-old child.
AAleksei KleimenovTerrible service! This is the first hotel/motel I've ever been to that didn't accommodate its customers. Australia never ceases to amaze me, in the worst sense of the word. The situation was this. We were planning to drive from Norseman to Lucky Bay (near Esperance) to see kangaroos and swim in the ocean, and then check into the hotel at around 8 p.m. But the motel confronted me with a fait accompli: check-in is strictly from 3 a.m. to 6 a.m.!!! Not an hour later! Otherwise, they won't give you the keys, and you'll be sleeping on the street. I physically didn't have time to drive such a long distance, stop at Lucky Bay, and check into the motel before 6 a.m., which I've repeatedly written in private messages about. No response! The answer was the same: if I don't make it, they won't give me the keys. I called the management and asked them to accommodate me, leave the keys in the box, explaining that I was a tourist, my first time in Australia, and would probably never come back, that I wouldn't have time to see the kangaroos at Lucky Bay. The motel management turned a deaf ear to my requests. Unfortunately, it was impossible to book another hotel. These people at the hotel are completely incompetent! Where has anyone ever seen a motel that only allows occupancy for such a short period of time?! I hope trip.com support takes appropriate action.
1163557****We made a last-minute addition of Albany to our Western Australia trip, booking the Best Western SureStay just a few days in advance, and it turned out to be quite a pleasant surprise!
The location truly is the biggest highlight – it's close to the city center, with supermarkets and fast-food restaurants nearby. Plus, it's a short drive to the Mount Clarence lookout for sunrise views, which was incredibly convenient for our impromptu itinerary. The room was well-equipped with a fridge and microwave, and generally clean, making it a handy stopover for our short transit.
There were a few minor downsides, though: the room felt a bit dated, the air conditioning was a little noisy, and the bathroom tiles weren't as white as they could be. Also, the TV size didn't quite fit the counter and was a bit tilted. But these are small issues; for a last-minute booking, having these amenities was already quite satisfying. It's a very suitable choice for a transit stopover.

Kkimyap11ample parking spaces; you can park in front of your unit. there is also a bus stop within walking distance on both sides of the road to access the motel. i believe the rooms were recently renovated so everything was in good condition. there are some eateries within walking distance nearby and also a petrol station nearby too. a short bus ride (2 stops) will take you to woolworths for your groceries needs. overall a pleasant stay.

SSyTingLocation: Excellent. Within walking distance to eateries, Cervantes center, general store, bus stops, Cervantes Club, Lobster Shack etc.
Cleanliness / Housekeeping: TV was dirty with lots of dusts accumulated and dropping off onto table, floor etc. No housekeeping service during the stay. None, even if upon request, so its a bit tricky for guests who stay for a longer duration e.g. > 3 days at the motel. However, guests can request from reception for fresh new towels, bin bags etc. to be provided. Guests will need to empty their own bins and get new bin bags from reception.
Service: Receptionists are typically helpful. Do note that there are no receptionists after working hours. So guests who check in before or after working hours will have to call a local Australia number to reach them. An issue for tourists as costly roaming charges may be incurred unless they have a local SIM.
Facilities: Old but generally clean and ok.
