Hostels in Inner Mongolia, China

"Pros: 1) Separate floors for women and men; this floor is exclusively for women, which felt very safe. 2) The room was relatively quiet, and the owner provided guidelines, including a rule against using hair dryers after 11 PM (though someone still used one that night – there's always a bad apple). 3) Slippers were provided at the entrance, and the bunk also had a towel and disposable toiletries, which was a thoughtful touch. 4) The owner also provided detailed photo and text directions via WeChat, making the hostel easy to find. Cons: 1) The bathroom was directly across from the six-bed dorm room (the yellow curtain in picture 1 shows the dorm on the left and the bathroom on the right). The bathroom doesn't have a main door, so whenever someone used it, the flushing sound was clearly audible in the two adjacent rooms. I heard intermittent flushing at past 1 AM, and even heard my bunkmate sigh. (Obviously, you can't restrict bathroom use, but the owner could consider improving soundproofing.) 2) As soon as I opened my room door in the morning, I smelled a strong odor from the bathroom across the hall. It was quite off-putting (again, likely due to the bathroom lacking a main door). 3) The shower room also doesn't have a main door and is right next to another room. If someone showers late at night, the splashing can be quite noisy."

"The entire northern route's cultural landscape seems to be condensed in Enhe Ranch. The room windows depict the Ha'er River, birch forests, pastures, Wolong Mountain, and the Milky Way, and often feature the daily lives of various animals. You frequently hear ”tap, tap, tap” and ”thump, thump, thump” footsteps, which you might mistake for children running around, but are actually adorable chicks and sheep. Slow down, relax; everything here can slow down. Get to know the people gradually. There's no need to rush to be enthusiastic or get to know them. Feeling safe and comfortable in nature's embrace naturally opens your heart, allowing you to feel the warmth and belonging of home. Thank you to everyone I met in Enhe and Enhe. I think I understand why some friends return here every year. Grateful! This is a wonderful hotel that cherishes nature, culture, and every visitor."

"Pros: Excellent location, it nearby the metro and many bus stops, and it’s easy to find especially with the hostel’s help (so text them in advance!). The room itself was great and the hostel provided: bed sheets, a towel, tooth brush and tooth paste, slippers, a fan, and some cups. In the bathroom you can find shampoo, conditioner, body wash, hair dryer, hand soap and most importantly toilet paper (sometimes). There’s also a water boiler and a washer. I like the concept of do-it-yourself here, which is made possible by the hostel. Cons: There is only one toilet and shower which are in the same room so finding the right time to use it may be a challenge. Additionally, the toilet is a squat and usually smelled really bad so beware! Only trash cans in the hostel are the ones by the door entrance and bathroom."

"I went to Erguna at the end of August. The location of the Youth Hostel is very good. It is just a roadside intersection. The store is on the second floor. There are many flowers and plants. The house is very bright. At that time, there were not many people who were not full. You can choose your own shop. The house is very dry. There is a bathroom in the room. The bath is in a separate room. The boss's mother said that the boss had been a backpacker and came back from Tibet to open this youth travel. I personally feel that living in the youth travel is very important for safety and people to get along with, these feelings are very good here. I was also very lucky to catch up with their breakfast and drink a cup of pure salted milk tea. It tastes very strange hahaha but very fragrant. The experience is very good. I will come next time I see the autumn scenery."

"Overall, it's okay, the service attitude is very good, and the check-in and check-out procedures are very fast. The room is not too big and is well organized. Generally speaking, it was quite peaceful to sleep at night. However, the air conditioner makes a sizzling sound and the quality of the bedding needs to be improved."

"Had an amazing stay at Hang Gai International Youth Hostel! Three of us stayed and the hostel itself was just what you need - comfy bed, hot water and in a great location to explore the city (you can get subway, taxi or cycle/ebike pretty much everywhere). But what made the stay so good was Hanggai and the amazing trip we went on to the grasslands. Hanggai is a fantastic hostel, very friendly and welcoming, and we spent an evening at his place a few hours drive for the hostel; as you can see by the photos it was a beautiful location and super quiet. Would definitely recommend! Thanks again Hanggai, we had a great time! 😊"

"It is a great youth hostel I have lived in. The public area is large and the facilities are perfect. Although it is a public bathroom, there are compartments, which are relatively spacious and very clean. There is heating during the National Day. Don't worry about it. It will be cold. The youth hostel also has carpooling service, which is very convenient. In addition, the milk skin yogurt is very delicious, the cheese leba is also delicious, the room is clean, the bed is relatively large, if you have friends here to play, you will definitely recommend it."

"呼和浩特最好的青旅了。位置特別便利，就在寬巷子門口對面。青旅出了門，過橋之後又是牛街，總之就是一天到晚的美食不用愁。住青旅最看重的一就是房間的採光和通風，綠皮車的房間非常寬敞，不想居民樓裏面的特別逼仄的空間讓人壓抑；二就是看衞生間，着急上廁所的時候不用排隊讓人特別安心；三就是淋浴間，乾濕分離既保證了舒適感，也不用因為有人洗澡沒法上廁所；最後就是充足的公共空間，這樣在房間裏就不會有人吃飯導致氣味不好，也保證了想休息的人有安靜的空間。想交流的人也有娛樂的去處。綠皮車這裏每個點都做得很好，衞生也保持得很好，公共空間也乾乾淨淨的，垃圾桶的垃圾清理的也很及時。住客們也都很有禮貌很有素質，老闆和負責衞生的姐姐都很熱情很負責。做大做強！"

"等機中，想了一下還是來個評論吧，順便記錄一下這個旅行。五一假期，老婆不願出門，就一個人臨時隨便飛個地方度假，就選了呼市，又不想環線遊，就隨便開車逛了一下。以前個人出行畢竟傾向於住青旅。就挑選了十八青旅。 環境：沒得説，老闆姐姐恨不得一天拖幾遍。床單被罩也是很乾凈的， 氛圍：可能已過了那個年齡段，男生宿舍都是小夥子，白天睡覺。晚上也不起床感覺，見到了打個招呼就嗯一聲。宿舍不怎麼開門。現在青旅床鋪都帶窗簾的。是不是00後們都社恐。還是怎麼樣。還是我已邁入大叔階段。 感覺：本人也是待了2天晚，白天旅遊外加隨地辦公，晚上就酒吧，今天開工第一天，就在青旅辦公了一天。 綜合肯定還是不錯的。下次有機會來呼市肯定還選擇十八青旅。祝好各位！"

"Youth hostels allow you to meet many people who travel, or find partners with the same destination, which is why I chose youth hostels. However, the price of this double room is more expensive than that of an eight-person or six-person room. The room is too small and faces the street. Across the street is a 24-hour car wash with glaring lights. There is also a window facing the indoor corridor. When someone is in the small hall outside, the lights in the room and corridor will shine in through the window. At night, there are lights coming through the windows on both sides, plus the narrow space, it is a bit like sleeping in a hard sleeper on a train, or even noisier. I hope that improvements will be made later. The boss is very easy to talk to and very enthusiastic. I give full marks to the boss's service."
