"The environment is okay, but I wouldn't recommend it for female travelers (reason at the end). They have two buildings. One has separate male and female showers, while the other has shared ones. The downside is that the separate showers are on the -1 floor, which is a bit inconvenient. The curtain for my bunk bed was split, so it couldn't block drafts, and privacy was quite poor. Besides that, a fellow traveler told me that when she booked a female-only bed, there was no gender requirement during booking or check-in. And a male guest appeared in the female-only room for two consecutive nights (there were men's shoes and male snoring)."

"The hot tub in the room is in an open-air space, which is something to be aware of when booking. The tub is large enough for two people to lie in simultaneously, quite spacious but not very deep. The large floor-toceiling windows offer a fantastic view. Parking is conveniently located just across the street. Tangweigou Park is within walking distance, and there are plenty of restaurants nearby. The Chinese-style porridge for breakfast was just average. There's no place to hang clothes in the bathroom."

"If you use the underground passage, you'll need to go all the way to Exit Z10. This exit has no elevator, and carrying luggage up the incredibly long staircase was absolutely grueling. After exiting Z10, it's about a 5-minute walk to the entrance, which isn't very obvious, so be careful not to miss it. I'm not sure if this applies to all rooms or just mine, but the room door was incredibly difficult to open! The male staff member at the front desk said we needed to push harder, but it didn't seem to be a matter of force. The timing between swiping the card and pushing the door was very peculiar. All three of us girls in the room got locked out at some point. Eventually, we just left the door ajar, fearing we wouldn't be able to get back in. Because of this door issue, I wouldn't choose to stay here again. Having a door that's so hard to open is really inconvenient when you need to go in and out of the room frequently. Otherwise, the common areas were all very clean and comfortable, and the facilities were well-equipped. There were even snacks in the pantry, which was a very thoughtful touch!"

"Excellent location, about 3min walk from the train station (and the buses departing for Alishan, I came to Chiayi to visit Alishan), and about 10min the other way from a very good night market. It was clean, the receptionist was very nice, the kitchen was well-equipped and there was breakfast (toast, butter, jam, salted egg yolk cookies, teabags, different kinds of milk). There's a balcony overlooking the surrounding streets to sit on too. Would definitely recommend for someone looking for a clean, convenient budget-friendly place to spend the night!"

"Downsides: 1. The toilet stank to high heaven. Every time I walked past, it was like entering a gas chamber – truly awful. 2. No refunds for early check-out. For example, if you book for four days and leave two days early, you won't get your money back. 3. Breakfast was incredibly basic, just half a slice of toast with jam. 4. There's only one large dining table, and you might encounter strange guests who could bother you. It’s better to just eat out. Upsides: 1. It's very close to Formosa Boulevard MRT Station, Exit 8. However, if you're not specifically looking for a place near Formosa Boulevard, there are better hostels in Kaohsiung for the same price and standard. If you do choose this one, I'd recommend staying for just one night. Staying two or more nights feels like you're getting ripped off."

"I had a wonderful stay at this hostel and was very impressed with everything. My flight arrived quite late at night, and the front desk closes at midnight. However, a kind male staff member was there to welcome me and kindly explained everything I needed to know about the hostel. I’m very sorry that I didn’t ask for his name, but I truly appreciate his help and warm welcome, especially since I arrived late at night. I especially want to thank him because his kindness and helpfulness really made me feel comfortable after arriving. The room was clean and comfortable, and I slept very well. The hostel is also conveniently located within walking distance of Taipei Main Station MRT, which made getting around very easy. The shower room and toilet are separated, but they are very close to each other, so it was not inconvenient at all. Overall, I had a wonderful experience and was very impressed with this hostel. Everything was perfect, and I would definitely be happy to stay here again ❤️"

"Bathroom was not that clean but the kitchen was really disgusting with bugs in the coffee in the morning, you have to pay for leaving your luggage In a locker before the checkin, no USB/ USB-c to charge your phone you need the ********* adapter, I had to buy it for one night since during my two weeks trip all the other hostels I’ve stayed at did have a USB-C one. The self check in did not work with my name but the staff did help me by changing something in the system."

"This was my second time staying here in Taichung. It's clean, and communication is easy via LINE. However, there was a slight misunderstanding. I thought check-out was at 12:00 PM, but it's actually 11:00 AM, which almost resulted in me being charged extra. "I went during Top Taipei's event from August 21-24. The private rooms were fully booked, so I reserved a shared room for 3 nights at 2,600 NTD. I got bunk bed E10, which was good. I'm 165cm tall and could stretch my legs comfortably. Check-in was promptly at 3 PM, but I arrived early on the first day. I wandered around, found some food, did some shopping near the accommodation, and then came back. There were plenty of seats available for waiting to check-in, and free hot and cold water dispensers. The bathrooms were sufficient, with Japanese-style automatic toilets. You might have to wait a bit during peak hours, around 8-9 AM. The dining room is open 24 hours. There's a fridge for storing food, but don't forget to label your items with your bed number. In the morning, there's free black tea (delicious), coffee, and snacks – help yourself! The air conditioning was so cold it made me shiver; I'm quite sensitive to cold, haha. Don't forget to bring a jacket to sleep in. At 10 PM sharp, the staff turn off the room lights, but there are sensor lights. They aren't very bright, so just use your phone flashlight. My bed light can be on all the time. ********* power outlets are authentic, so don't forget to bring an adapter. The washing machines and dryers are free to use, but the power cuts off after 10 PM, so you need to use them before then. For drying, I recommend at least an hour; it's probably more effective than what I did. I had to hang my clothes in the room afterward. I asked the staff for extra hangers, and they kindly provided them. At check-out, you return both the extra hangers and the towel. I bought clothes from Net and washed them on the very first day. Detergent costs 10 NTD and can be bought at the check-in counter. In the basement (B1) via the elevator, there's a Poya store with a huge selection, but I only bought a cute air freshener for 30 NTD and a lip mask for 59 NTD. Don't forget to try the coriander Doritos for 29 NTD – they're delicious! If you want to buy plum wine, it's cheaper at Carrefour if you take the bus there than at Poya. If you spend over 2,000 NTD, you can also claim a tax refund!"
