I had a really good stay at Discovery Youth Hostel, Melaka. The location is honestly perfect — right in the old town, walking distance to Jonker Street, cafes, night markets, and all the main attractions.
The place is simple, clean, and comfortable, exactly what you expect from a good hostel. For the price, it’s totally worth it. The vibe is chill, good for solo travelers and backpackers, and it’s easy to meet people.
If you’re looking for a budget-friendly stay in a great location in Melaka, this is a solid choice. Would definitely stay here again.

The room was clean and had three bunk beds, each with a privacy curtain and a vanity mirror. There were no windows, and shoes were not allowed in the room; shoes were placed on an outdoor shoe rack. The bathrooms were outside, but each was independent and lockable. There were also shared restrooms. A small restaurant served hot water, tea, and coffee all day, and offered a simple, complimentary breakfast including bread slices, a toaster, sauces, and butter. The hotel was not far from the Dutch Square in the old town, within walking distance, and there were several restaurants downstairs in a decent location. The front desk staff were also good and provided excellent service. I forgot to take pictures of the room.

I’m here for solo trip, it is a wonderful place which should let more ppl see, the location is amazing, just cross the road can see the market. The parking is easy for me coz the parking there is easy to see ppl out and park. The toilet is super duper clean, and the. sleeping area is so quiet, everyone there is mature adult, there try to keep the most quiet they can in the sleeping area. Common area really feel warm and cozy. There have 2 cats there is very fluffy and watch TV and gaming area. It is really a place worth to stay, will come back again if visit thai place again.

The room was very clean and comfortable. The air conditioning kept me cool and I was able to sleep soundly at night. The shower temperature was just right, and the water pressure was stable and easy to use. The staff were friendly and always smiling, which made me feel at ease. I appreciated the free towels they provided. The hotel is right next to the river, so there was a table where I could rest while looking out at the river. The location is convenient, but the nearby restaurants are open until late at night, so the noise outside can be a bit distracting. Also, the lack of a washing machine may be inconvenient for those staying long-term. Overall, it's good value for money, and I highly recommend this hotel for short stays.

A well-located low budget Inn near Jonker Street! The rooms are basic, average setting with shared bathrooms. The staff is friendly and helpful.
The location is great, just a short walk from Jonker Street, making it easy to explore the night market, cafes, and famous attractions.
⏩ Great value for money, but cleanliness could have been better especially the towels, shared bathrooms. Just be mindful of slight noise from thin walls.

GGuest UserThe facilities are old and it’s clean but not spotless, so u may need to wipe ur table and switch if u mind the dust.
The air condition is really cold and blanket is not really thick which makes me freezing overnight, thank god I got my bf to warm me.
The towels are not recommended to use cuz it looks dirty and used before.
The floor is a bit sticky but acceptable, wish next time can provide a slipper.
The area is not noisy during our staying and the water dispenser is working but not produce hot water.
There’s a pharmacy downstairs so it’s convenient to buy smt u need, oso 7-11 and a burger stall nearby.
In conclusion, u get what u paid for.

AAnonymous UserHotel room super clean, the owner really mantained it well. Hotel was newly renovated on march 2025. Aircon,tv,fan all are very new. Does not provide water bottle but has water purifier outside the room.
Down side: at night owner not there, need to whatsapp owner for checkin, at night water pressure is quite low, and wifi very unstable at night. Day time everything is good. Hope owner can take note on that. Overall everything is good for this price as a budget hotel.

Close to Pengkalan Balak Beach and about 30+ km from Melaka city attractions. Suitable for short stays and family trips.
HH MatthiasA centrally located and newly built hotel. Very pleasant, clean, and cozy interior with comfortable beds and pillows. Great A/C and TV.
Things to improve on: slow check in process (~15 mins), most rooms have no windows, toothbrush not provided.
Apart from these, one of the better hotels in this small town. Worth the money and very comfortable for 2 a night stay.
