We stayed in the cottage D, very old facilities, it’s a nice place but they should consider change their all appliances in the room, cos too old already. It’s very inconvenient that they don’t have a shuttle from cottage to lobby, we need to call them everytime we go out instead. The ski place was all man made snow, we were disappointed. We thought want to let the kids experience snow..

Location is literally right infront of Shinano-Omachi station, extremely convenient. Walking distance to Delicia supermarket, Daiso etc. Food quality provided for breakfast was top notch. Onsen was clean and hot enough to enjoy! Extremely value for money and great experience!

On the quiet side of Nagano station. This can be a + or - depending on your preference. The public bath is quite nice, a nice surprise at this price point. Strange that the hotel will charge yen 9,000 if you lost the card key. That card cost maybe around yen 10.

Excellent new hotel, very well furnished and decorated rooms. Shoes off as soon as you enter the hotel. They even have a cleaning machine at the entrance to clean the wheels of your luggage. Nice onsen, though a little small. Free popsicles and ramen for supper. Very close to Matsumoto Train station.

I very recommend for this hotel best of all, free parking, wide room and the breakfast is the best of what I have before, i would forget and will come back to stay again.

Great location, just 5 minute walk from the JR Nagano station. It has a main entrance and a back door entry way. The amenities were fantastic, room is the average size in Japan, a little small for western standards but it was comfortable. We loved the onsen on the 11th floor and the free use of the massage chairs as well as complimentary Popsicles and Soba at night. The breakfast was also lovely, with a main focus on Japanese breakfast (there were a few western dishes available).

We stayed in the hotel for one week. We like the hotel a lot. - Staff are nice and helpful, especially a passionate guy at the front desk. They helped us book restaurants and deal with toll payment. - Breakfast is great. We haven’t felt bored after one week given many varieties. Especially they have “today’s special”, different omelette every day. We like the wasabi cheese omelette. On the other hand, dinner buffet was ordinary. Food became cold. With the same price, we had a nice 7-course French dinner in a nearby restaurant. - Room is nice and clean, although a bit small. Bed is comfortable with different pillows. We have some difficulty to allocate our big suitcase in the room without block the way. However, we noticed poor management for laundry room and emergency cases. - There are only two washing machines. Some people put clothes on washing machines or nearby for queuing. We waited in-person for 15min several times, but someone claimed they came earlier, or said they need to add additional time for dry. We had to wait until midnight to do laundry. - Nice onsen, but poor emergency handling. One day I heard voices from speaker for ＞15min during shower, and then realized it was from a cell phone when I was in indoor bath pool. A lady with black glasses was using the phone in the pool (not sure if taking photos or videos)! I felt very uncomfortable and went to the outdoor onsen. But she came to outdoor onsen shortly. I went back to indoor onsen, and saw the phone on a chair beside the indoor onsen. Another guest also expressed her concern to me. I called emergency phone in changing room, said three times “someone is using cell phone in bathing area, please send a female staff asap”. Unfortunately the guy who answered the call does not understand English. 5mins later he came to the door of changing room, asking who called SOS. I told him again, and he finally understood, but did nothing except asked my room number. After we checked out the next day, the guy saw me and told me in Japanese that “sorry,but we will improve in future” (showed English translation to me). I was very disappointed. 1) Why did the hotel ask a guy who doesn’t understand English to take care of female onsen? What if someone fainted? 2) No actions were taken after I reported issue. No one came to stop the issue, no one checked whether inappropriate photos/videos were taken. Whole staff are nice, the hotel is poorly managed in some places.

The room size was adequate for our needs, providing enough space to move around comfortably. However, the combined bathroom and toilet were a bit on the smaller side, which might be a consideration for some travelers. The breakfast offered could definitely use some improvement. It was quite repetitive with not much variation from day to day. A bit more variety would make the dining experience better. We skied at Hakuba 47 and were pleased with the convenience of the shuttle service provided by the hotel. The shuttle operated at designated times, making it easy to get to and from the slopes. Overall, we were satisfied with our stay and would return.

Pretty nice hotel at a convenient location (only 6 minutes walking from Matsumoto station). Amenities are aplenty, with ample washing machines/dryers and hot springs, sauna and cold pools. Free ice cream during the afternoon/night and yakult in the morning are plus points. Complimentary hot ramen at night is great as well. Many places to eat after hours nearby. Also comes with free mango pudding upon arrival in the fridge, which is nice. Nice place to stay if you are planning to go to Kamikochi or just go around Matsumoto yourself or with loved ones.

During the skiing trip in Hakuba, although I didn't drive myself and the transportation was a little inconvenient (the shuttle bus with fewer flights sometimes couldn't fully meet the needs), the hotel's front desk service made me feel extremely warm and thoughtful. Here, I would like to express my sincere gratitude to several front desk staff for their enthusiastic assistance and professional service. This was my first time to go skiing in Hakuba. I was unfamiliar with the local environment and did not have a car. In addition, I had to send my luggage back to the airport, so I encountered many challenges during the process. First of all, I would like to express my special thanks to an older male waiter who was kind and polite. He helped me with the delivery service. The process was very careful and made me feel at ease. Secondly, thanks to a short, slightly fat but smiling male waiter. After learning that I had been waiting in the lobby for two hours because the shuttle bus did not arrive on time, he tried his best to help me call a taxi to the ski resort. Although he was unsuccessful in the end, he understood my persistence and was always willing to help. When I got back to the hotel, as time was tight, he took the initiative to ask his supervisor and quickly helped arrange a hotel car to take me to the station so that I could catch the bus and JR train to Tokyo. At the same time, he also helped me pick up my stored luggage and assisted in moving it. He was more anxious than I was throughout the whole process, which deeply touched me. I am deeply sorry that I was unable to express my gratitude or give a tip in person as I was in a hurry at the time. Also, I would like to commend a young waitress. Location is great, free shuttle bus between station and hotel. Also easy to get to the outlet. Breakfast is highly recommended, can choose between Japanese and western one, both are delicious. Nearby is the ski park, can enjoy whole day skiing there. Onsen is great after whole day exercise, quickly relieve tiredness. Highly recommended!!

We had a wonderful stay in Karuizawa, with Marriot providing a good environment for our rest overnight. The hotel room is quite spacious though a bit old style. Short driving distance to all tourist spots nearby! The car park is good and was free! Will definitely come back again!

The hotel is located quite far from Karuizawa JR station. There is a pickup bus service every half an hour outside the south exit of the station. However the bus is very small and can be quite full at times, causing people to rush onto the bus. It would be better if the hotel could set up a better queue-up system or adjust the frequency of the pickup bus service. By the way you can deposit luggage at the customer centre next to the pickup bus stop and have them transferred to the hotel for you. I thought the hotel did not advertise the service enough as it is very useful and effective in creating more passenger space in the pickup bus. Breakfast at the hotel is not buffet style, so went to the Prince Karuizawa West hotel to have breakfast instead. During non-peak hours the hotel offers individual transportation for free so that is definitely a plus. The Momiji hot spring is definitely a must-visit. Clean, modern, hygienic, exactly what I look for in a hot spring. Overall service is excellent.

Traveling alone, the hotel is located on the mountain, with complete facilities and good service. There are shuttle buses for pick-up and drop-off. There are two hot springs, one of which is open 24 hours a day, which is very user-friendly.

The hotel is located on a remote mountain, more than ten minutes from the center. The rooms are a bit far away, but fortunately they are clean and hygienic, and the space is very sufficient. I have been to Karuizawa many times, and this trip in late autumn and early winter was very impressive. We booked a trip on a whim, which made our trip feel so wonderful😊 Karuizawa Hoshinoya Hotel is worth staying in. The one-to-one butler went to the room to explain the various services of the hotel in detail, and the experience was particularly comfortable. The lobby is connected to the restaurant, with spacious and high-ceilinged large glass. When eating breakfast, looking at the autumn scenery outside the window, it is really worth it! There is a small bar, next to which is a row of lazy sofas, coffee, various Japanese teas, and snacks are available at will. Champagne has a time period in the afternoon, and guests staying in the hotel can also enjoy it at will. The details are really comfortable. There are two hot springs in Hoshino Hotel. The Hoshino Hot Spring is relatively large and famous in Karuizawa. It is open to the public at the hotel entrance (free for hotel guests). There is a smaller hot spring inside the hotel. Hotel guests can go there at any time by pressing the password. I went there to experience it. There were few people and the feeling of comfort was beyond words. The scenery of Hoshinoya Karuizawa Hotel is really beautiful. It is so beautiful. There is a view at every step. The air is very fresh. Although the hotel name says Karuizawa, it is actually in Miyota-cho next door (locals also complained to me because no one came if it was only Miyota). It costs 6,000-7,000 yen to take a taxi from Karuizawa to the hotel. The shuttle taxi arranged by the hotel can only pick up at Miyota Station (take the Shinano Railway, three stations away from Karuizawa). I told the hotel that I wanted to celebrate my mother's birthday, so I prepared greeting cards, desserts and bear towels, but compared with the previous hotels that were not so expensive, it seemed a bit cheap. There is no extra charge for soft drinks and alcoholic drinks in the room refrigerator. They are provided according to the number of people. We have four people staying (four bottles of local apple juice, four bottles of local peach juice, four cans of Suntory oolong tea, four bottles of Perrier, four cans of Karuizawa beer, four cans of Yebisu beer and two bottles of local sparkling wine). The content provided is also a bit average compared to other Japanese hotels of the same price that provide Moët & Chandon champagne. The dinner content is sufficient and delicious, and the chef will come to meet at the end. The marshmallow roasting activity is from 17:00 to 19:00. Check out at 11:00 the next morning, and the hotel also provides free delivery service to Miyota Station.

Hotel is about a 5-10 min walk from Nagano Station. Very convenient. Check in was through a machine with help from the friendly staff. Check out was really quick. The rooms are bigger than we expected and everything we need was there. Bed was comfortable and we slept through well. Plus plus. Overall, it was a good value, good location and comfortable stay for us. Will not hesitate to return.
