This is a lovely hotel. Friendly helpful staff, good rooms and a beautiful design set in the trees. Breakfast was excellent, free bikes and a good pool. A really comfortable oasis in Bacalar and a short walk to the nicest public approach to the lagoon.

Casa Hormiga is a complete gem in an amazing place. The hotel is a sanctuary built inside a sliver of jungle with the most incredible staff - always ready to help! The food and cocktails are amazing as well. The general vibes are so chill it’s impossible not to relax! The spa is super cool - we didn’t have time to do one of the signature rituals but did have an amazing sound healing treatment outdoors on. Ew years day which was very special. Bacalar is a very special destination and we can’t think of a better place to stay!

Casa Hormiga is an amazing experience. The hotel design is sophisticated and comfortable. Jenn helped us with all of our needs and coordinated our transportation and a truly memorable NYE experience. We are so grateful and highly recommend this hotel!! Easy walk to lagoon and plenty of restaurants and downtown. Breakfast, Yoga, the library, bikes were all nice perks.

After spending over a month trying to figure out where to stay during our trip to Bacalar, I decided on Casa Hormiga! Location, Amenities, Design was my reason for selecting! We booked the Autumn Special that included daily breakfast, daily yoga offered, free bike access, walking distance to Eco Parque Bacalar & Centro Bacalar. Plenty of restaurants, coffee shops! Our room was cleaned daily. We booked wonderful massage treatments. I sincerely enjoyed being in Bacalar and will return but I will make sure that I continue to book off season to avoid crowds and enjoy the beauty & serenity of Bacalar. Please be respectful of the ecosystem & don't forget to tip the workers as this town thrives on tourism. Take a tour , eat, drink, book a service.

Breakfast was included and was excellent. Didn’t need extra but the menu looked fantastic. So easy to get around Bacalar from this hotel. All staff were super friendly. Yoga teacher was welcoming. Drinks in the bar area were lovely, it was such a wonderful place to relax. Had the full retreat spa experience - something I will never forget. Fabulous hotel design and quality hosting. Took bikes out for a ride. Used the library. Thank you for making our stay so memorable. I hope to return.

Such a wonderful environment they've created here. The hotel is peaceful, well-designed, and comfortable in every way. The staff go out of their way to make sure you're taken care of. The rooms are large, with great beds, showers and amenities, the location is ideal, and the extras like the spa and restaurant are excellent. Can't recommend enough!

Overall we had an excellent stay. The atmosphere were relaxed, the staff were so nice, and the rooms were lovely and clean. Three things they could have done better: 1) Clean the pools more often. 2) Less cake and more actual food at the breakfast buffet. It could have been nice with just a boiled egg or some yoghurt. 3) Please change the carpets in the yoga nest. They are very sticky - quite discusting.

This was a spectacular surprise. They have created a natural and very tasteful sanctuary with their hotel that is very special. We tried the temazcal ceremony and it was an amazing experience lead by Ronny. Special mentions go to Rubén and Rodrigo on the front desk for their professionalism and understanding of what great service really means. Bravo Casa Hormiga!!
