"The hotel is perfectly located, but breakfast isn't included; it's only available à la carte, which is expensive and not very good. Certainly not worth the price. The same goes for the dinner menu: very limited choices, overpriced, and truly mediocre. It's a shame because the restaurant has an extraordinary view, but it gives the impression that they're not making any effort because of it. Food is also an important part of a hotel experience. We went out for dinner in town, but not for breakfast. We won't be returning."

"Yak was ok. The location was great, close to town and had a nice outdoor area overlooking the water, and they had some nice activities. However, the dorm and facilities were not adequate to accommodate the number of people in the room. There was one moldy bathroom with limited hot water to accommodate the 8-person dorm, an overflowing trash and hardly any space. They're known for their weekly Wednesday night EDM dance party, so if that's not you're thing and you don't want crazy loud music blasting at you until 2 a.m., pick a difference place or a different day. Furthermore, considering the lagoon is shut down on Wednesdays, the party should be held on TUESDAYS to make it easier for people who want to begin their days early when the lake re-opens on Thursdays."

Our Habitas Bacalar - Adults Only ★★★★
"For those who enjoy the sound of rain to help them fall asleep, this place is a haven for deep sleep during the rainy season. The cabins aren't very soundproof; the heavy rain pouring down into the surrounding woods, combined with the air conditioning on and blankets tucked in, creates a truly immersive ASMR experience. We slept soundly for twelve hours straight. The weather hasn't been great lately, with less sunshine during the day, so the scenery isn't as beautiful as on a sunny day. However, the lack of direct sunlight actually makes it easier to relax by the lake and enjoy a drink. The lake water is a bluish-green hue regardless of the weather, very calm, and about 2 meters deep, suitable for a short swim. The hotel rooms are rather basic. As shown in the last picture, the bathroom is open-air, so you have to take a shower when it's not raining. ⚠️Note: Those who are afraid of insects, frogs, or lizards should be careful, as you're bound to encounter them on the road and while eating. It's worth mentioning that the hotel restaurant was a pleasant surprise; almost every dish was a hit."

"The hotel is beautiful and located near the city centre, which is very valuable. It is on the edge of the lagun to be able to bath. The staff is served. We did not appreciate that there is no fridge in the room. We are disappointed with the breakfast that is a grilled bread, a fruit board and a omelet."

"Extremely overpriced for what they provide, hotel pictures show it better than what it really is. Hotel is 25 minutes walk away from the centre. The hotel is ship containers built as hotel rooms which are much smaller than in the pictures. The walls have no insulation so you can hear everything from surrounding rooms at all times. Staff does not speak english but can be helpful with google translate. Breakfast is very poor, cornflakes filter coffee and ham and cheese sandwiches, there is a nespresso coffee machine but that is not included in the breakfast you paid for. The water shown in the pictures is very shallow and you can barely swim there. Renting a kayak is not included and has an extra charge. 3 star accomodation at best."
