The hotel is very close to the center of Catalunya, only a 5-minute walk away. Although it is not a hotel, it is worth staying. The room is clean and the location is close!

Wasn’t sign posted where it was properly, but apart from that, check in was easy. Then the room was very nice, very authentic. Definitely worth the extra money to have a shower and a toilet In the room. Excellent location was your 10/15 minute walk from everywhere you want too see. 5 minute walk from the nearest metro stop and 5 minute walk from the main train station

The worst accommodation we have ever been to. Close to the street, noisy, you can hear everything and you can't sleep. We booked 3 nights, after the second they asked us to change the room because they have "some" problem with the reservations!! ??? They left our room unlocked after cleaning and some things were missing.... Barcelona is beautiful, but Casa Maca is the worst accommodation we've ever been to. Staff rude. You should avoid Casa Maca

Worst experience while staying this guest house. Please reconsider and take your own risk if you chose this guest house. 1. There is no reception at this guest house which means you must tell them your arrival time and they will open the door. Even though we emailed them our arriving time before and reached on time following their regulation. However, we had to call and wait for another 20 mins outside until she came to open the door. 2. No reception means that in case of emergency it will be your own risk. She explained if we need inquiry, please message via WhatsApp and DO NOT contact after 10pm. She didn't tell us emergency number. There was someone kept knocking and tried open our door in the middle of the 1st night. We felt unsafe, and fear. We couldn't sleep at all. 3. Main door at guest house You need some skill how to open this guest house old main door. It took so much time until we manage to open the door (She never teach us how to open the door. It seems everyone struggling not only for us but also other guests. 4. The noise and uncleanliness You must accept noise from outside. Our private room with shower located 1st floor was facing on the main street. There is Japanese bar at next door, and you will hear the noise from them and also drunk people on the street whole night until in the morning. There was only one glass in the room (even though we stayed for 2 pax) was put on the toilet. We requested to remove it next day of housekeeping, however it still kept there. 5. Zero customer service After 1st night of nightmare, we feedback to the management about noise, door issue, strangers knocking on the door, and uncleanliness glass etc., surprisingly management (named Carla) excused herself and never apologized, simply told why we didn't call at emergency number (which we haven't been informed). We booked 4 nights but requested to refund another 2 nights due to this bad experience here at Casa Maca Guest house, they just simply rejected and even never consider at all. We don't expect to the guest house for hotel quality, I believe that what we enjoy staying at boutique guest house is not only budget but also connecting people with friendly service. However, Casa Maca guest house isn't one of that kind of guest houses. Unfriendly and cold manual work. They don't think guest feedback seriously and don't think the view from guest perspective. That was quite disappointed rather than money. We left another hotel without staying 2nights that we paid.

Worst place on earth! Please do not trust the 5 stars review probably given by themselves. Do not trust the photos as well that is not how the room look like. Booked for 4 nights but left after the 2nd night, for 2 nights in a row there were people trying to open our door and knocking in the middle of the night and the person giving you the keys will inform you NOT to contact her after 10pm (but they will deny this when confronted later on). When contacted she will inform you she had checked with all the other residents and none of them knock on my door...i mean hullo isn't that worst? that showed someone not staying in the residence was in the building! Poor hygiene really disgusting they placed the drinking glass on top of the toilet bowl and expect guests to use it, they expect guests to guide them on basic hygiene when informed instead of knowing the basics. Worst customer service by this person Carla who is the "Karen" of Barcelona through email, instead of giving a sincere apology she will turn it around and blame the customer instead. Very rude and has no knowledge of service at all, wonder why she is being hired. We requested for a refund from all these lapses but was denied, even with this rejection we decided to move out because this place is literally the worst in Barcelona. I have email correspondence as evidence if anyone would like to see so please do not stay in this place.

Good location, close to the Sagrada Familia, La Pedrera and Casa Gaudi. The building is very noisy, you can hear everything from the rooms next door, it does not have good service, the internet is terrible, the bathrooms are minimal and they do not even have a hanger for hang the towels I will not return and I do not recommend it

DON'T GO because THEY STEAL and don't take charge. I have all the emails that certify it. I would never write badly for anything. Bad reception, bad treatment, but stealing seems excessive to me. Worst thing I've ever been to.

We went to spend the weekend and the truth is that the room was very good, the toilet was tiny, but with everything and the place was super quiet. A great location, very close to the Sagrada Familia and half an hour walk from the Gothic Quarter, with the metro station next door
