First the positives: An easy walk from the bus stop from the airport. Good soundproofing from the street. Comfortable bed. We got a great night's sleep. Good sized room with a high ceiling. A safe. A fridge. Fluffy towels. Good WiFi. Friendly, helpful receptionist. Complementary coffee and pastries breakfast. If that was it, my review would be an easy five stars. But. The shower was one of the worst I have encountered. Black mould on the tiles. A cake of black gunk inside the shower door. The cleaner never goes in there, with the shower door closed, to see the dirt. We would definitely not return.

The Hotel is in a great location and has very friendly staff. We arrived early before check-in time, and they were happy to take our bags while we explored the city. The room was a good size and had a kettle and mini fridge. The fridge was a bit noisy so we unplugged it at night (the socket has become loose from the wall). The bathroom was clean and had a large shower. We also had a small balcony to the front. The free pastries and coffee for breakfast were a nice touch. On the day of departure, we checked out in the morning, and as we had an evening flight they were happy to look after our bags and for us to pick them up later in the day. Brilliant service which allowed us to explore Barcellona without worrying about our luggage.

We enjoyed our staff here. The location is excellent, the bed very comfortable and the staff extremely helpful. There is coffee making facilities and a cafe downstairs. Good restaurants close by too. Highly recommended if you are visiting Barcelona.

Beautiful house located right by Passeig de Gracia, close to everything! Great service and really friendly and helpfull staff at the reception. We stayed in the penthouse and it was perfect for our family of five. Comfortable beds, well equipped kitchen and two bathrooms. But the best was the enormous private terrace, loved it! I can really recommend this place!

VB has an apartment feel and is in a central and busy location. For a first time visit, I'd highly recommend this location and hotel. I loved the feeling of putting my key in the locked door off the street, which looks like an apartment building. Make sure you know the address, as the signage is minimal -which I also liked. Didn't feel like a tourist giveaway ;-) We had a superior double with a double balcony facing the street and it was wonderful. There wasn't any noise - or at least minimal and not an issue. I would recommend asking for the room on the floor above the lobby - just me, but for noise and security, I liked being up higher. The staff were very friendly and helpful. A great welcome to Spain for us!

I contacted the hotel a few days before arrival. The confirmation email and information provided to *********** mention and quote, "Check-in time is from 13:30 to 21:00." This was the main reason I booked with them, but it turned out to be all wrong. Despite sending my arrival time to 1:30 pm, I had to wait about 3 hours. At the front desk, it was Belén, and she tried her best to solve the terrible situation, but sims like the main problem was the maid or service cleaning lady called Nieves. Belen even offered to help her, but she, with rudeness, denied it while we waited more and more. The worst part was when finally, around 4 pm, Belen told me that I could access the Penthouse; Nieves, the service lady, just appeared, calling her (Belén) names, slurs, and whatever she was thinking in front of everyone: horrible impression and the first day. I would leave, but my parents were exhausted, so I remained there. After all the bad experiences, entering the penthouse was a bit of light. It was big and clear, and despite the white walls being very dirty, everything else was functional and nice. Big terrace, a good kitchen, and two bathrooms. The bed was good, and a plus having a small lift. I contacted the hotel and asked to leave at 12:00, and the hotel accepted my request. When I thought it couldn't get worse than the welcome, Nieves (the service lady) made another debut. At 12:06, we were already with the luggage ready, waiting for the lift (an old and small lift to the last floor). Take some time, and we remained inside while we called the lift with the luggage ready on the front of the lift doors. Nieves (the service lady) opened the apartment door without calling and started screaming in Spanish: Ustedes, you see deberían haber ido (you should be out). Once more, I needed to kill her with kindness and try to hold on to my feelings because of my parents. Nieves la hizo a la entrada, y tambien a la salida!.
