Our top hotel picks are based on price, location, and guest reviews to help you find the best stay.
"The hotel's location and cleanliness were excellent. The rooms were very large. The staff were helpful and friendly. We didn't have breakfast, so I can't comment on that, but a hotel this nice definitely has a good breakfast. If I were to go back, I would definitely stay at this hotel again. It's about a six-minute walk to the center. I look forward to returning. The only thing I didn't like was that we specifically requested a quiet location, away from the elevator. However, they had assigned it directly across from the staff room, and almost every 10 minutes, someone would come in and out, and the door would slam, which started early in the morning. That was the only downside. A hotel I can definitely recommend. Best regards."
"One of the cheaper hotels that we could find in Bath but it wasn't a budget stay. We booked a double room with a sofa bed and got upgraded to two doubles and a sofa bed so the kids were happy.
All the staff were very professional and nothing was too much trouble. There were complimentary cookies and popcorn on offer.
Location was perfect for the tourist sites of Bath."
"The location of the hotel is very good located in the city center but due to several bars nearby, very noisy at night, every night you have to bring earplugs to fall asleep. The noise does not stop until about two or three o'clock.Water for shower in the washroom The pressure is very low, it will be easy to get cold if you take a shower in winter. The washing machine does not have a drying function, so the chance of using it is not high."
"The room was spacious and spotlessly clean, equipped with a mini-bar and a kettle. Breakfast was excellent, featuring a make-your-own waffle station. There's also a small gym available.
A large overnight parking lot is conveniently located just a short distance from the hotel, which is great if you're driving. Just one block north, you'll find a variety of restaurants, and the famous Roman Baths are only a few more steps away.
However, the front desk staff spoke extremely fast, seemingly oblivious to the fact that we were foreigners and struggled to understand. They just rattled on. This really highlighted a lack of consideration and customer service on their part!"
"This is an excellent hotel. Our (comfort) twin room was clean, spacious and quiet, the public rooms are comfortable and stylish and the service was excellent. Being regular visitors to Bath we were a little concerned the hotel location and value was too good to be true and we were delighted to be proved wrong. £15 a night for parking in Bath is well priced and while the hotel is up a steep hill, this is far from unexpected in Bath! We were able to walk everywhere and late check-in meant we could be confident of a smooth arrival after our evening show when we arrived in Bath too early for our room to be ready. Highly recommended."
"Our stay at Oldfields House was outstanding we were shown our room then offered another with a stunning four post bed, which we settled into quite quickly. The staff on check in were amazing and fixed us up promptly and courteously. Breakfast was delicious and filling and our coffee was perfect."
"Good location, very close to the Sankong Bridge, the hotel is very warm, the room is small but the living is very comfortable, the hygiene is very clean, the whole hotel is very quiet, the breakfast can order, and the taste is very good."
"The location is very good, eating, lodging and transportation are very convenient, health and room configuration are good. The only regret is that the room is not soundproof."
"absolutely love this place!! would definitely want to stay here again in my next visit. the breakfast had a good variety and really local, room is very pretty and big too"

Outstanding
GGuest UserI thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Chestnuts Boutique B&B! I was able to park up my car at the front of the establishment and walk around Bath for the rest of my visit! Attractions and places of interest were around a 15 minute walk away- which is fantastic!
The host was so helpful and attentive.
My room was clean and comfortable! I had access to plenty of wardrobe space,a TV with Netflix, a fridge, kettle and a well stocked box of tea treats (& fresh cakes too!)
Breakfast was gorgeous and fresh. There were plenty of local leaflets available to read about local events and attractions too.
Thank you very much!
AAnikeBathen House is simply phenomenal from the mixture of old and modern aesthetic that screams class, elegance and luxury to the squeaky clean, serene environment and the oh so polite staff that were always available to help and make your stay as comfortable as possible. It was such a remarkable experience and I would definitely go back again. I absolutely loved my stay at Bathen House and I swill always recommend. It was the best Easter Holiday and Experience.
ZZhanqianyingSmall luxury hotel I feel relieved to see that it is SLH, but it is unusually understaffed. From check-in to dining in the restaurant, you have to wait, wait, wait. If you don’t understand English, please don’t come. Most of the employees look like college students who work part-time and cannot solve the problem alone. question.
The restaurant and bar are good, the room is very big, you need to take the stairs to the first floor, and the bathroom is half a floor up. The swimming pool is small and there are many people. There is a sauna, but it was useless because the temperature was 30 degrees on the day of arrival.
Charging the tram is also very funny. It took a long time to fully charge it.
GGuest UserWe stayed in a triple room and were delighted with the comfort and cleanliness. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was amazing - 2 of us had the full English and 1 had avocado, smoked salmon and poached egg on toast. There was also a selection of fresh fruit, yoghurt, juices, pastries, coffee and tea. All delicious. The location is superb, being very central.

SShriya PopatThe staff were really friendly and sweet! The location is good about 10-15mins walk into central town. Our room was well equipped with a dyson hair dryer. The breakfast was also really lovely. The toilet in the room we stayed in was in a little bit of an awkward position or else this would have recieved 5 stars!
MMarilyn QI had a fantastic stay at this 4-star hotel! The receptions were friendly and attentive, making me feel welcome from the start. My room was clean, spacious, and well-appointed with modern amenities, and the bed was super comfortable.
The breakfast buffet offered a great variety of delicious options I enjoyed the hotel’s historical building. The location is convenient for exploring the city, making it a perfect choice for both business and leisure travelers.
Overall, a wonderful experience—I highly recommend it and will definitely stay here again!
GGuest UserThe hotel is good. The living room is OK except for the smell of old house air when entering the room. The furniture is old but it feels good. The breakfast selection is quite rich.

Very Good
LLiam and JennyAttended on Tuesday 27th Feb. Paid a little extra for room with a bath as like the couple ****** we are, we wanted a bath in Bath. My wife's first time ever visiting here. The hotel is a lovely setting, there is history here and all the staff have been wonderful. Close to the station, literally in front of it, and close to everything. Had the great pleasure of having many encounters with Tim, one of the reception staff and I believe concierges. Super pleasant and always helpful.
We had breakfast included and after having that this morning can honestly say it's bang for your buck, with hot food to order including steak and eggs, (best steak my wife has had in the UK), a breakfast grill and a selection of others plus a typical selection of baked goods and fruits. The bar is pleasant and we enjoyed drinks last night before heading up to our room. Strawberry daiquiri we have had many times but the Amaretto sour was an interesting twist with a strong lemon zest.
The only downside to the visit would be the bath/shower experience. Lukewarm bath and cold shower when we attempted it last night. This morning we got hot water for a total of ten mins to share before it went cold again. Not the worst thing all in all but a downside considering the extra pricing for a bathtub room. I was however assured that had I brought it to the desks attention I would have been assisted and I had just done the British thing of not wanting to fuss.
One last perk that made an impact to me; free luggage storage. We checked out early so we could make the best of our time exploring Bath before we ride home. We were offered free luggage storage for even after we checked out so we could come back in quick before our train at 3pm and grab our bags and go, no extra charge. Fantastically useful as the Abbey tour does not allow luggage inside and we wanted to go.
Anyway, thank you to Tim and all the staff at The Royal for making us feel welcomed and our time there special, we will definitely be coming back someday soon and will stay again. - Liam and Jenny Stephenson, Room 109.

GGuest UserPositives - excellent receptionist (Vipin) and without his help I would have probably checked out early. Has parking. Reasonable location and access into central Bath. Has an electric kettle and a pack of cookies.
Not so positives - In desperate need of upgrade, creaking floors, wash basin outside the bathroom. It isn’t for work related travellers as you cannot even use an iron without tripping off the entire building main switch and once that happen there is no 24 hour active reception. No fan or iron provided in room so you have to ask. Tiny computer monitor used as a make shift TV that you have to pull out of a closet. No drinking water in room. Value for money not there as many better locations available at same or lower price.
Aan618The location is far away, but there are buses leaving the center within a few minutes' walk.
The room is quite big and unique. There is also a living room with a sofa.
The receptionist was nice. After a night out, I called an uber on my way back.
