Salamanca Galleria Apartments

We were emailed instructions ahead of our arrival and told there would be no staff on site to help with check in. On arriving it was obvious there had been a mix up with our booking - we'd treated ourselves to the best suite on the property, but were allocated a small and stuffy room with no windows. Disappointing but should have been quickly resolved - except that it was impossible to contact anyone! The only contact method we were given was a mobile phone number. Our many calls and messages went unanswered. Instead of starting of our holiday we were sat around checking our phones as it got later and darker. Eventually we gave up and found another hotel who would take us in last minute. THREE HOURS later at almost 9pm, they eventually made contact and insisted there was no issue with our booking. We went back and forth and they finally looked into it properly. They blamed the 3rd party booking site for not telling them we had bought an upgrade - despite the fact they (the hotel) had charged my credit card for the upgraded room price. There was no apology or acknowledgement of the stress caused, not for the mix up nor for the appalling delay in returning our calls. The only positive part of the experience was that they cancelled and refunded our booking without an argument. There's so many beautiful and well located properties on the Salamanca *****, no need to settle for one who treats people like this.

Suite 3, Perfect location, quiet, warm, enough room for two, comfortable bed. We loved the accommodation and everything about Recommend staying at battery point rather than the city as the city is disappointing by comparison.
