It was wonderful for two people from different parts of the world to share perspectives in such a safe, welcoming environment. Not to mention how interesting the place! The interior design is unique and comfortable, striking a perfect balance between modern and vintage styles. Located right in Battery Point, it is ideal to fetch a good cup of coffee from local authentic cafes to start the day. And as a female, the cleanliness standard is commendable. As a female guest, I also appreciated the immaculate cleanliness, I checked in late and so to see a dry, spotless bathroom was a fantastic surprise. This is my first time solo travelling and my first night with Montacute brought me lot of ease as I explored Hobart, it was heartening that I almost wanted to visit the place again just to take a selfie with the owner! "

"Easy check in. Location is ok, quite a walk from the CBD. Room was FREEZING. The heater didn’t really work well. Draughty windows. The steps outside are an accident waiting to happen. No hand railing or light at night time, you can’t see anything in front of you. Also on checkout we needed assistance (6.30am) no one would answer the phone, leading to belongings left behind in our room."

"Excellent location, free parking is a god sent. Fully equipped kitchenette. Strong shower and a heater in the bathroom! I can see Mt Wellington from my from and my room faces the quiet side. Service was prompt. Bed soft and very comfortable. The coffee machine is a bit slow but works. Good hot chocolate sachet provided daily. Uk tap water in Tasmania is portable so no bottled water is provided unless u want to pay for the minibar water at $7 a bottle. Guest gets 10% off bill when u eat at Gigi diner at the ground floor."
