Shangri-La Hotels in Beihai

I stayed at Pearl for a couple of weeks while settling into a language school at Beihai. It's in an interesting part of town, close to both Beihai old street and the seafront, though a long way from the best beaches on the other side of the city if that's what you want. The room was great, spacious and well looked after. The staff were helpful and the public laundry station on the roof made life easier.

My friends and I stayed at the Crowne Plaza for one night while transitioning to Guilin. The hotel was in a good location next to the beach, and we were happy to have good rooms overlooking the sea view. For dinner, I went to the Chinese restaurant at the hotel, and they had excellent service and food (the beef fried rice is a must to have). The breakfast in the morning was great, with a wide range of options available. It would have been nice for the lounge to extend its opening times as they close quite early, and we could not access it. Overall, we had a good stay and would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Beihai.

I stayed here with my girlfriend during the Chinese new year, and we loved it. The staff are super friendly and helpful, especially the boy who helped with our luggage and the restaurant staff, such as Wang Xiaomei who welcomed us each morning. The hotel is very close to the beach and lots of restaurants. The only problem I had, as with all HI hotels I’ve stayed in recently, is that the pillows are uncomfortable and need replacing, and the duvet is far too thick for the warm weather in Beihai. Also, they advertised on Ctrip that they have air conditioning, but it doesn’t work. Overall, a good stay though thanks to the staff.

Isle Beach Home was a pleasant surprise. The view and closeness to the ocean is the best part of the stay. The rooms are very comfortable and the beds are of western hotel standards. The staff is attentive and friendly. They provide information about the island and also scooters for easy transportation. There is a restaurant on site with delicious food. It's also close to local seafood markets on the island. Another great part about the hotel is the infinity pool and deck. But there are a few things that detract from the overall greatness of the experience. The pool deck, although beautifully overlooking the ocean, is not set up for relaxing. The deck chairs are old and without cushions and there are no pool umbrellas to protect from the summer sun. And secondly, (this is not their fault or responsibility) the surrounding environment is the opposite of what the hotel promotes. The buildings and structures surrounding the hotel are unsafe and hazardous looking. But even with that, I would definitely stay her again.

1️⃣As soon as you get off the plane, there is an airport bus✈️The terminal goes directly to the hotel downstairs. It only costs 20 yuan and there is an invoice. It is very convenient for business people on business trips. The hotel is directly opposite the high-speed rail station. It is so convenient to take the train next time. 2️⃣The rest environment is quiet at night, the sound insulation effect is good, and it is also very convenient to eat, drink and have fun around. It takes only five minutes to walk to the He'an Comprehensive Shopping Mall. If you want to go to the beach at night, just rent an electric car downstairs and it will take 20 minutes to get there. It is very convenient. 3️⃣I give full marks to the hotel breakfast. It is very friendly to business travelers. There are Guangxi noodles, northern noodles, and Western salads. It is very rich and rich. The rich breakfast made me and the client company not hungry until twelve o'clock in the meeting. I didn't have time to eat breakfast the next day, and the front desk provided a breakfast bag, which was really considerate. 4️⃣The hotel's sanitation details are very good, the bedding and slippers are very comfortable, and the details are really incomparable to Quan Mou Ji, Ju Mou Zi, and Ya Mou Duo. If the price is similar, I would rather choose Hilton Huanpeng, the quality is guaranteed! 5️⃣ The dryer and washing machine in the laundry room are split and are free to use, and the laundry detergent is also provided next to it, which is very detailed. ⭐️Summary: A must-go for business trip parties! ! Don't step on thunder! ! Next time I go on a business trip to Beihai, I will book your place again, and try the business lunch package, which is very cost-effective and can solve the happy lunch of cattle and horses! !

The second hotel on the trip to Weizhou Island. Needless to say, the location is near the Blue Bridge. The sea view room I chose is 1450 this season. The price-performance ratio is good. It's like a house built on the beach. It feels wonderful to listen to the waves and fall asleep! But the distance between the rooms is very close (a walking path, and the fence does not block the view). I live at the edge and it's okay! But there is really no harm without comparison. Coming from the last homestay, I suddenly felt that there was no service. The biggest difference between homestays and hotels is that the former pays more attention to service details and various personal experiences, while the latter pursues hardware environment and comfort! ! After checking in, a special person took me into the room and introduced the room facilities and related supplies. Then there were various patterned care text messages after leaving the store! ! The worst experience was the power bank at the front desk. It is an extremely rare brand. It was not scanned and started to charge. It took nearly 20 minutes to solve it. The service staff said that it was a problem with my phone signal. It happened yesterday. After I actively sought help, they helped me solve it, but it was speechless! Why not choose a popular power bank manufacturer to avoid such problems! This is just a small episode. The overall feeling is that except for the room type, there is no desire to come again! The service style of this store is casual and comfortable. They will help you if you ask for it. The restaurant is also like this. It feels very homely (the food in the restaurant tastes good)! If you like this natural and casual feeling, you can try it! There are many choices of homestays. I will not come here again next time!

Great hotel, room and view were amazing!!! Free pickup and drop off to the fairy Station. Room was super beautiful, spacy, and the view was stunning. You can rent a electric scooter at the front of the hotel and just stroll around the island. Recommend to go to Wucai Beach for the sunrise. One problem - breakfast time is only 8:00-9:30. Personally I think it's a very short period for a vacation hotel and ends quite early. Also, once some food ends - they don't refill, it's just over. Came in at 9:10 and many things were finished. Other than the breakfast issue, everything was really great. Had a wonderful weekend here :)

We generally liked this hotel and stayed for 4 nights while in Beihai. The rooms are very spacious with bathtubs and other good amenities. They are also very clean, and the hotel also offers a good breakfast. The only issue was that it's winter and the rooms were cold. They would not heat up no matter what, and I had to use two comforters from two separate beds together to be warm at night. That was the only problem, but otherwise everything was good. The location is also very convenient.

The reception staff is very helpful, although more English-speaking staff would be advisable as most of the staff does not speak English and it is a 5star hotel. I would like to mention Lisa who speaks English and was very helpful, providing useful information regarding hotel facilities, Covid test places and places of interest. Big up to Lisa! The breakfast buffet is okay, but the pastry choice is a bit limited and, generally, it feels that the hotel does not really cater for western guests (mainly Chinese dishes). The buffet lounge is full of light; it is very spacious and facing the seaside, which is great. However, the cleanliness can be improved as the tables and the floor were not cleaned quickly enough, and my table and the floor under it were greasy/dirty. The facilities are quite varied. The pools, gym, tennis court, steam room were used during my stay and they were in good condition. The steam room takes a long time to heat up though. The staff in the gym/swimming pool does not speak English at all. The table tennis room and some other facilities were under maintanace during our stay, so we did not use them. Overall, the hotel has more recreational facilities than most hotels. Well done! Regarding the location, the hotel is on the coast, but the sea is not swimmable there, so you can only enjoy the view. The hotels near the main Silver beach (for example, Crowne Plaza) are considerably more expensive (about 500rmb difference), so a 30-min taxi ride there (costs around 30 rmb one way) still makes the Furama hotel a much more economical option. The sea view from the rooms is very nice! Overall, it was a very pleasant stay and a late checkout was highly appreciated! My rating of the hotel is 4.5.
