Capital Airport and New International Exhibition Center
Second time to stay here and a much better experience. The receptionists were helpful and efficient, my room was spacious and clean and I used the large gym to work out. It had lots of equipment. The pool is 25m too but I didn’t get chance to swim. The location is perfect in shunyi, close to local eateries and malls and the airport.

The hotel is in a great location with a mall entrance right beside, that has everything you need. The concierge staff are very helpful and the pool and gym facilities were great. The room is tidy, a little older and the aircon did not work; it was extremely hot at night. The booking process required essentially a double payment. Trip asked for a pre-authorisation amount of the total stay and instead of that being used for payment, they charged again plus a 1000rmb deposit so even though my stay was only 3 nights for a total of approx 3300 rmb I ended up being charged 7600rmb. Although the preauthorisation was refunded it still (3days later) is not showing in my account. Then when I went to check out, they tried to charge me a third time for 3300rmb. I normally stay with Crowne Plaza but this particular branch was not to the standard I am used to. Location again was awesome.

I am living at the top floor (20/F) and it is extremely hot. The air conditioner is a centralized system and I cannot adjust. After telling the frontdesk, they send me a electronic fan and it feel slightly better…

We arrived at the Crowne Plaza in the afternoon, from the airport. As the valet took the bags out the car, I suddenly realised I had taken the wrong suitcase from the baggage claim. The manager on duty began our check-in and called over the director of Guest services, Alex Li. Alex was incredible! He immediately found the number of and called the airline for me. Realising my bag had been taken, he set out to organise an exchange for me, should the other person get hold of the airline. We continued checking in - getting a free upgrade due to my having an IHG membership, regardless of my zero points - and went to the family suite. The room was brilliant. We had 3 adults sharing the area, but the living room, 1 bathroom, 1 extra toilet and beds in separate areas allowed for privacy and space. It was clean and well organised, and the view from the 20th floor was good. We left for dinner downtown, during which I received a personal call from Alex. He had stayed in touch with the airline counter and had found my bag! He spoke with the other passenger and arranged a direct transfer, which he later assisted me with (translating, negotiation, etc.) I was very grateful to him for his kindness and above-and-beyond service. At breakfast at ‘The Market’, we received a warm welcome from all staff. Everyone’s English was very good and the service staff were friendly and polite. Our table was also quickly cleaned whenever a plate was finished; a nice change in China. The food was nice for a hotel breakfast, with many options, and we enjoyed it. We decided to try the set menu from the ‘The Market’ for dinner. For ¥158, we had focaccia starter and could choose 1-of-2 salads, 1-of-2 soups, 1 main (beef fillet, pizza varieties or pasta varieties) and a drink (cold drinks, juice, house wine). I had the Caesar salad, pumpkin soup, medium beef fillet and a glass of red wine. The wine was OK, but the food was excellent! The flavours were great and the fillet was cooked to perfection. I was thoroughly impressed, especially for a hotel meal. Overall, the quality of the hotel and its staff - especially Alex - was superb. I was so pleased to stay there, that I changed my booking to an IHG hotel for the next stop of our trip, too.
Crowne Plaza Beijing Lido

Wangjing Area
I chose this Crowne Plaza because it has a large pool. There were very few people swimming in it. It is great for lane swimming. They have a cafe which serves western food. They have good juices and smoothies. Coffee is also good. The prices are very reasonable for western food in Beijing. The wait staff are friendly. This hotel is not suitable if you want to stay in the city centre. Most staff speak a little English and some staff speak English well. I would stay here again.

Our whole family spent three very pleasant days here during the Qingming Festival. There were people of all ages, and we were all very satisfied whether we were playing, resting or relaxing in the hot springs. All the hotel service staff provided very good service without being overly warm, whether it was the front desk check-in staff, the staff who helped the children with face painting, or the service team at the hot spring center. Although the hotel was almost fully booked during the Qingming Festival, all the staff worked very well and were a very experienced and well-managed team. In particular, our housekeeper Xiaomei responded very promptly from before the trip to the end of the trip, and helped to deal with various issues, big and small, from booking additional rooms to calling concierge services. If you want to make some small suggestions, the phone response can be more timely. Sometimes no one answers the phone. Also, the room can be equipped with a small soap. In addition to the service, I would also like to share my experience at Muyun Hot Spring. The interior of the hot spring is very well designed. There are some small pools with partitions for people to take a rest, and there are also medium and large pools with high playability. There are relatively few outdoor pools, but they are enough. The overall cleanliness is acceptable, cleaner than other nearby hotels.
