Hotel near China International Exhibition Center Area,Beijing

I have to say, the front desk and service staff were really warm and proactive. That's probably the only good thing I can say. The decor looks new, but the maintenance is pretty mediocre. The soundproofing is terrible; every time someone closes a door, it's incredibly loud, a real ear-splitting thud that's just infuriating. It feels like the whole building shakes, especially in the mornings and evenings, which really disrupts your sleep. Rooms that aren't occupied during the day are left with their doors open, and they're dark and spooky, a bit creepy. I don't know why, but I could hear the cleaning lady tidying rooms even with my door closed. I thought there was construction going on, but it was just the sound of her shaking out blankets and such. I only figured it out when I walked past her doing it one time. The cleaning lady herself was very friendly, but she had a severe cold and wasn't wearing a mask when she came to clean my room, which really worried me about getting infected. She used gloves to clean the toilet and mop the floor, then used the same gloved hands to replace new towels and hand me canned drinks. Personally, I found that quite unacceptable. I didn't feel comfortable saying anything directly because she seemed like a nice person, but I really hope the hotel provides proper training. As for the windows, not every room has one, so definitely double-check when you book. Mine had a window, but it was tiny, the screen was filthy, and there was machine noise from outside. I'd say it's just about acceptable for a business trip since it's not expensive and offers decent value for money. But if I were coming for leisure, I definitely wouldn't choose this place.
