I frequently this hotel during the nineties. And for me was the best choice for relaxing in Beijing. I was quite surprised to see that rooms, and the hotel in general, is still the same and it didn't undergo renovation. It's still as ut was 30 years ago. It's now a hotel for tourists only.
Internet extremely slow.
Despite the above, the staff is at the top. Very professional. The breakfast is superlative.

Very bad experience. I have been at least 10 times to Jianguo one of the most renamed and classic hotel in Beijing but this time the service was suboptimal, the staff very sloppy and they claim to be a non smoking hotel bit they are in bad faith as they don't even bother to install smoke detectors as they now that most of their Mainland customers smoke inside the room. I have asthma and was in Beijing during the worse time April for a conference and had so many attacks during the 4 days and I kept complaining to the reception that the other guests kept smoking with their room door open and they really didn't care.Shame on them

Jianguo Hotel is an icon of China opening up to the rest of the world since the 1980’s. It is located in the heart of Beijing’s business district, but a quiet and peaceful oasis. The hotel is so different from all the rest of the hotels, with courtyards, water ponds, and trees. The service is classic, fitting for a hotel of its statue. After staying in countless business hotels I found Jianguo Hotel is one of kind and my favorite.

Room 232 is located near elevator and kind of annoying that every time elevator used by other guests and workers it makes noise.

The elevator side of the hotel is dirty. The room was ok but the bathroom wasn’t well maintained.

This is not the first time I have stayed at this hotel. Very convenient location. The metro is two steps away. The staff quickly solves any issues that arise.
