I arrived late due to a flight delay, but check-in was smooth. The room was clean and modern, though I struggled to figure out the air conditioning. Despite a language barrier, the staff and a translation app made communication manageable. I could leave my luggage at the lobby, which was helpful. The hotel is within walking distance of Wangfujing Street, the Forbidden City, and Dengshikou Subway. Halal food is scarce, but there’s a halal restaurant across Dengshikou station.

The room is too small, and the decoration must have been many years old. The floor is bulging, and the details are also dirty. I stayed here to see a doctor at Union Hospital. The appointment was at 3:30 pm, and I wanted to delay it until 2 pm, but I refused. I was told that I had to check out at 1 pm. It was raining outside, so I had to wait outside. I often stay at Super 8 when I come to Beijing, and they can delay check-out until 2 pm. This is a bit inhumane.

The front desk also called to remind us to book and check in. When we left, our child Xiaotian left it in the room. We called the hotel right away while we were in the Forbidden City.
