Great hotel! However, if you walk a few blocks in the wrong direction you end up in what looks like the slums of berlin with a ton of sketch folks walking around. Access to the subway was great and it was easy to walk to one of the town squares.

Spotlessly clean rooms (although small) easy to control temperature, windows could be opened and nice furnishings. Friendly staff we were able to leave lugga e there I last day. We loved the bar / lounge / lobby downstairs. Drinks 24:7. Great location for tube and walking (we did mostly) to all of the sights. Nearby is Oranienstrasse with great bars and eateries.

A real pleasant surprise. Super comfy and clean room, great bed, great bathroom. Perfect location next to the underground station. Wonderful touch with the crackling TV fire. The staff were incredibly helpful and polite ... and cheery. One of the barmen did have a bit of a grump on (not sure if he was being ironic) but the marvellous Connor came to the rescue. Impressive range of gins available ... for next time, please restock Hendricks!!! Breakfast felt a little bit like coming down to a family breakfast - which had its charm, but might not be to everyone's liking. The main reception area doubles (or rather triples) as the breakfast and bar area ... which makes it all rather intimate. There was enough on offer at breakfast to make some cracking cheese, ham and tomato sandwiches. The bread was magnificent. Thanks to all the team who made my stay an enjoyable experience.

Friendly staff, clean room and great service! I arrived early in Berlin on a hot day and really appreciated that my room was ready for me, before official check-in. This was my first time in a Motel 1, but I will definitely return. Great location too!

Arrived at 2 pm and was told that no room would be available before 3 pm. I asked if there was any private space to pump breast milk and was told I would have to do it on the toilet. I found a closet on the way but was told that I could not even use that.

Motel One was a pleasant surprise. On the outside, it looks like a bunker; on the inside, it has small but exceptionally well-designed rooms with everything a business traveler needs, a lovely back patio, nice bar and reasonable breakfast. The location can't be beat: just around the corner from Oranien Platz and the heart of Kreuzberg. One thing: one side of the hotel faces busy Prinzenstrasse. See if you can get a quieter room facing the back. It makes all the difference.

My wife and I spent 4 nights at this basic and very overpriced hotel. On the plus points (there are not many) the hotel is next to the underground station, has a nice lobby and the internet is good, but that is it. In all other respects, this hotel is rubbish. The rooms are tiny (barely enough for one person), no tea/coffee facilities, bathroom is tiny and beds are very uncomfortable. You are also next to a busy roundabout so all night you can hear police and ambulence sirens and local drunks blasting music all night. Overpriced for what is essentially a youth hostel.

This hotel is just a classic from the Motel One chain. Consistently decent. We had a decent size room, nicely decorated, clean and tidy. They’ll hold you’re luggage for you. It’s less than 100m from a U Barn stop. Walking decent of decent pubs and bars. I think I’d stay here again for the location alone!
