Residencia Universitaria Resa San Mamés

I cannot recommend this residence due to their unacceptable handling of my deposit refund (1103 EUR). If you're considering staying here, I strongly advise you to look elsewhere — you may end up losing your money. I stayed at this residence during a research stay as a visiting researcher at UPV. At first, it seemed like a good choice for someone coming to Bilbao on a professional trip — the facilities looked ok, the local staff was polite, and everything appeared in order. But despite checking out on January 4th and a clear contract stating that the deposit would be returned within 90 days, I have not received my refund. It’s now been over two months past the deadline. I sent several follow-up emails and still got no response and no refund. This is not how a professional organisation should operate. I’m honestly shocked at how this ended. What seemed like a reliable place turned out to be the opposite. At this point, it simply feels like fraud — taking people’s money and disappearing once the contract ends.

Perfect for attending the BBK live festival. Travelled from santander airport on a coach that arrives at Bilbao intermodal. Went up a few levels and there is the accommodation on top of the bus station. Free shuttle buses for the festival left from across the road, the wristband pick up was at san memes stadium 5 mins walk away this was also where you could get the paid festival buses from. Reception staff were really welcoming when we checked in and friendly and helpful during our stay. Room was clean, had aircon, lots of storage and had a distant view of the Bbk main stage from my bed in room 703. The fridge and microwave were handy but no plates, pans or cutlery so we couldn't use the hob. We'd planned to eat out so not a big issue. Quietest hostel i've ever stayed in so sleep was great. Great communal areas but we didn't have time to check them out properly. Bought breakfast for 5 euros each on our last morning. Breakfast staff really nice, everything was super clean and a good continental selection. 5/10 mins from a lovely riverside walk that takes you to the guggengeim by way of the maritime museum. Walking distance to supermarkets. i'd definitely stay here again.

Excellent location, close to train and bus stations. Within walking distance of the main attractions. Apartment was comfortable and functional. The staff were very helpful and gave lots of tips for sightseeing. Would recommend this accommodation , suitable for all ages.

I booked a studio for 3 nights and everything was great! Located right above the Bilbao Intermodal station, getting there from the airport was super easy and only 3 euro with bus 3247. It's a 15-minute walk to the Guggenheim museum and a 25-minute walk to the old town, but the is right outside the door if you prefer public transportation. The studio was super spacious. It came with its own sink, microwave, and mini-fridge. There was also a few utensils and plates, bowls, etc. Staff was friendly and answered all my questions. The wifi worked great. The bathroom was nice, with a big shower. The only problem is that you can't control the temperature of the water, no matter how hard you try. So one second it's scalding hot and the next it's lukewarm. An all you can eat breakfast coupon is included in the price, which is awesome. The common areas are really great. Almost made me want to go back to university! All in all, a wonderful stay. A much better value than a hotel.
