Viel Schatten, wenig Licht es gibt in diesem Hotel zwei verschiedene Kategorien: Standard und Superior wir hatten Superior gebucht. Am Samstag bei Anreise wurden wir sofort gebeten, die Zimmerrechnung zu bezahlen. Das ist ungewöhnlich, aber ok. Als wir dann das Zimmer betraten, stellen wir fest, dass wir eine falsche Kategorie bekommen hatten. Also zurück zur Rezeption. Die junge Dame war völlig überfordert und bestätigte, dass wir ein Standardzimmer bekommen hatten und kein Superior. Sie holte sich Hilfe bei Herrn F. Welche Funktion er hat, wissen wir nicht. er hat sich nicht vorgestellt. Allerdings schaute er in den Computer und sagte, dass er jetzt am Samstag Abend nichts mehr tun könne, das Hotel sei ausgebucht. Als Kompensation und Entschädigung würde er uns für den folgenden Morgen zum Frühstück einladen, und ein Zimmerwechsel am nächsten Tag. Mehr könne er für uns nicht tun. Damit war das Gespräch für ihn beendet und wandte sich wieder seiner Restaurantkasse zu. Nach unserer Auffassung ist dieses Verhalten Betrug. Er hatte unser Geld schon kassiert. Für 2 Nächte Superior Zimmer! Am nächsten Morgen sprachen wir dann mit einer netten Kollegin an der Rezeption. Frau M. war im Gegensatz zu ihrem Kollegen kompetent und handlungswillig. Sie organisierte den Zimmerwechsel, erstattete den zuviel bezahlten Superioraufschlag und eine Kompensation für die gestörte Nachtruhe. Der Unterschied zwischen Standard und Superior ist die Lage: Hauptverkehrsstrasse und Innenhof. und wir hatten ausdrücklich Innenhof bestellt. Nach der positiven Überraschung an der Rezeption der zweite Schock: das Frühstück. Das Hotel wird durch die Lage zum Musical vornehmlich von Busgruppen frequentiert. Wir hatten uns schon erst zu 10 Uhr für das Frühstück vorbereitett, um dem Ansturm der Busgruppen aus dem Weg zu gehen. Aber es war eine Katastrophe! Die drei Servicekräfte waren heillos überfordert. Schlachtfeld trifft es wohl am Besten. und keiner der Mitarbeiter war in der Lage etwas Ordnung in das Chaos zu bringen. Wenn Sie irgendwie können, suchen Sie sich ein anderes Hotel! Und wenn Sie es schon nicht vermeiden können, dann buchen Sie unbedingt Superior. Erstens ist an Schlaf bei Zimmern der Standardkategorie zur Strassenseite nicht zu denken und zweitens finden Sie dort eine Einrichtung, die wohl noch aus dem 70er Jahren stammt. Die Superiorzimmer sind zur ruhigen Hofseite und sehen aus, als wenn sie in den 90er Jahren mal renoviert wurden. (auch schon 30 Jahre her....) Selbst die Nähe zum Musicaltheater macht es nicht erträglicher. Das Musical selbst ist auch nach 30 Jahren immer noch eine Reise wert!

I stayed here for 4 nights as part of a business trip. The check in process was smooth and the team were very welcoming. There were some gingerbread biscuits on offer throughout the day which was a nice treat. I had a room on the 2nd floor close to the fitness centre. The room was clean, modern and functional. The bathroom was spacious with a hair dryer and a plug for shavers / electric toothbrushes. The room was a bit cold and AC / Heating unit didn’t see to work as expected. I The downside was the shower with a half glass partition and a relatively flat floor, This meant that when showering, the water would run off into the bathroom. I had to use the towels provided to clean up after every shower. Breakfast was pleasant with a selection of warm and cold options, various bread and spread options. Juice, water and coffee was readily available. The staff in the restaurant were very good. There is a conference and business centre here located on the first floor. The hotel also offers parking onsite.

The location is very good, opposite the train station, next to the hotel is the subway, walking along the road is Bochum city centre. The hotel staff are very polite and have the strict style of the Germans. The room facilities are properly arranged, but compared to the majority of hotels in the country, and although the buffet breakfast is dazzling, but as the Chinese said that they are not used to eating, it is better to go back to the room to eat biscuits and drink juice.

For good 50 Euros for the night with breakfast really top. nice staff, good breakfast and quiet, clean room. Only by way from the train station to the hotel I don't feel safe at a later hour.

Nice hotel near the Bochumer city centre, super connection with public transport. Super friendly staff. Clean house. Parking. Wi-Fi. Small extras, such as fruit shops or free mineral water. Very cozy and family atmosphere. Corona hygiene concept really well implemented. I'm not sure I'm the last time here.

Ibis hbf hotel has excellent location. Just around the corner of the main entrance of Bochum station (Hbf). Great choice for train travelers. Outside looks like a worn out bit but in fact it looks good inside and most importantly it is clean. It is probably recently renovated since all in the room looked very decent and not used for much of the time. Bathroom is tiny but clean and in good condition. Breakfast is included and it is surprisingly fresh ( they have pancake machine , my son loved it). The staff are polite and helpful. Our room was located just across the main Bochum station-we weren’t bothered by the traffic nor noise. Likely the windows had good insulation( obviously). The rate per night was very OK , especially taking into consideration the fact that Bochum has higher rates than similar comparable cities in the region. I would surely come back.
