Alum Chine Beach House

I stayed here booking thru Aadvantage/Agoba Overall the stay was good and I recommend if you need a kitchen & want an apartment vs hotel room. On the description of the 3rd party site they leave out that there is no AC nor elevator - only later did I see no elevator mentioned on their actual website - but i wish I knew before I booked as I had a heavy suitcase & traveling solo. Apt 5 and 6 are in the very top floor of 3 flights of stairs - while it was hard to carry my suitcase up 3 flights of stairs, Michael (the manager) helped when I asked though at checkout. No AC is main reason for 4 stars as In July during England’s heatwave… staying on the 3rd floor with no AC was trying. I was scared to open the windows at night bc there is no screens and I saw a bush nearby the home with a bunch of bees flying around it (I believe there is a Beehive) but in 2nd night I had no choice. Now… if you don’t mind there being No AC for the summer then your stay will be good. There is a furnace for cold months… The living room separated from the bedroom is always nice. The bed was comfortable too. I can hear the guests in Apt 6 cough or some of their conversation when I was in the bedroom…so the wall barrier there is thin. But I didn’t mind too much bc they seemed courteous. Rooms 1-3 are on ground floor. Buses stop running nearby after 7:15pm and best to take a taxi from Poole or Bournemouth thereafter if u aren’t renting a car. Kitchen: no dishwasher so you need to clean dishes before you leave … would be nice if they put stainless Steel pans vs the scratchy teflon options & a sponge with scrub to better wash the dishes … TV: is slightly outdated so no downloadable Apps - wasn’t able to mirror /phone connect and YouTube option wasn’t working. Location: in a neighborhood… grocery or food is only available thru Transpo not foot. M&S is probably biggest grocery store nearby & plenty Tesco options nearby. Laundry is avail and free for guests. Taxi: was about £10 each way from Bournemouth square and I also bought a bus pass on the Bournemouth Transpo website. Staff/Mgmt: Michael was very nice and communicative via WhatsApp. And when I requested non feather pillows - he was able to provide. I recommend if you are staying long and have a lot of questions to email or call them in advance …

Excellent stay - great location and really easy check in.

Such a well kept clean apartment very comfortable bed and great shower. We stayed here to help our daughter move house so after a hard day moving furniture we were so grateful to find a couple of cold beers waiting in the fridge for us! My husband said he would give 5 stars just for that! Would definitely stay here again

I booked and paid for apartment 2 ground floor with garden view. however we were given an attic apartment up about 35 stairs. My husband is 85 years old and disabled. I complained to the owner and was told they could not move us as they were full.They must have put someone else in the apartment we had booked and paid for. A bottle of wine and a few chocolates were put in our room as compensation. We did stay having made the journey buy found it very difficult managing the stairs . The usable area in the living kitchen area was so small only one person could sit on the settee as the other end was under the eaves and was not suitable for us at all. Iwould like a refund of the additional money I paid for the more luxurious apartment that we booked

We had a wonderful family time there with our children, their spouses and pets. All couples stayed in a large, well equipped and comfortable apartments just minutes walk from beautiful and busy Bournemouth beach. The area was very quiet, no problems with parking second car on the street even during weekends. House manager was very nice and responded quickly to any requests, nothing was too difficult. Special thanks to Monika, the cleaner who always checked with us convenient time for cleaning and she did fantastic job. Definitely, it's going to be first port of call for future booking in the area!

This property is in an ideal position for the beach, chines and Westbourne. The parking is adequate with 6 spaces for 6 apartments. We were in a ground floor apartment with a view of the garden. The furnishings were first class and of high quality beautiful blinds, towels and quality microwave, toaster, oven etc. The entrance keys proved very difficult but these were changed on the first morning and worked perfectly then. Leticia the contact was very prompt in her replies when we contacted her. Our dog was made to feel at home and loved the experience. We woukd certainly return.
