"The architecture and environment are truly magnificent, definitely worth a deeper exploration. The 'Dongpo Academy' play was well-produced; it would be even better if there was transport in the evening to experience the immersive live show at Dongpo Academy! However, the service and transportation have significantly deteriorated compared to four years ago. The shuttle service to the high-speed rail station is practically non-existent: no clear signs, long waits between buses, and often no seats due to overcrowding – I couldn't get a ride both ways. The bus service to Haikou has also been cancelled. The most disappointing aspect is that many of the original attractions are closed, and those that are open charge exorbitant fees. A ticket to the Ocean World costs 160 yuan per person, and the mini-train, which used to be included in the accommodation fee, now costs 60 yuan per person! Such a large-scale resort, yet the management is so outdated! I have no interest in returning next time."

The West Coast is popular! And the new condition is still great! Nautilius's power zone is also pretty standard! But the laundry machines are not that great! Haier still can't use commercial machines! The meeting room is so messy that I suspect pillows are holding a meeting! The outdoor garden is too perfunctory! There is no romance at all! It doesn’t fit the concept of garden! I feel like the boss is very stingy when investing! But the gym and breakfast are ok! The room was ok too! "Everything else was fine, but the service needs improvement. No breakfast voucher was given upon check-in. Breakfast times are only listed on the hotel's website; you can't see them by clicking on the room type in your booking. I only found out breakfast ended at 10:00 AM when I went down to get the voucher. It was already 10:01 AM when I went to get it, but the front desk still gave me a voucher. After getting the voucher, I asked the front desk what time breakfast ended, and they told me it ended at 10:00 AM. Why give me a voucher after 10:00 AM? If I hadn't asked, would I have just been eating this? (Picture below). Is this how they just brushed me off? Later, they offered to refund 15 yuan for breakfast, saying that receiving the money meant they wouldn't pursue the matter (which could be interpreted as not leaving a bad review), but I didn't agree. I just wanted something hot, but everything was cold! The manager didn't intervene, only making a phone call. Shouldn't breakfast vouchers be given during check-in normally? Just because the front desk forgot to give a breakfast voucher during check-in, the guest has to bear the consequences of your mistake."

MMauveMHad a wonderful stay here at Forest Inn, Hainan University! My cousin is starting university nearby and we came to drop her off. Since we had stayed in the downtown before, we wanted to find a place close to campus to experience. This hotel is the best option! It’s right within the campus entrance and easy to navigate to. The front desk concierge’s were very friendly and kind - two of them even took us around on the tour bus to familiarize us with the campus and surrounding area. They even went out of their way and offered to help us unload luggage. Since there was no parking space on move-in day, having the option to drop off saved us a lot of hassle. In addition to campus, the hotel is also located close to a botanical garden, about 15 minutes to the downtown area, and close to shops, stores, etc.
Some suggestions:
- Wish the pool was accessible as advertised on Trip but it’s now only a kiddie pool.
- For longer stays, room amenities should be replenished daily based on number of guests.
- I received a rather expensive delivery during my stay and asked the courier to leave it with the front desk as I was out during that time. There was someone at the front desk with a poor attitude who denied that any deliveries arrived and suggested it had been delivered to another location. Luckily, another staff member helped me check and found my delivery. I suggest besides giving guests misleading information, to ensure it’s accurate first.

AARC5555The stay at the Danzhou Seaview Baili Hotel was very pleasant. The check in was convenient and all staff very friendly. The room had a quite modern appearance , was decently equipped and was quite big. Sadly we didnt get a sea/ port sided room, otherwise the view would probably have also been great.
The roomservice came every day between 8 and 9 for cleaning and reequipping the room. My only wish would be that when they knock the door twice, they actually wait a little longer for a response. They always entered very quickly and didnt give me enough time to even reach the door and open.
The breakfast selection is probably the only thing that was a little disappointing. Not that many choices and only some minor changes every day. Especially the limited fruit selection is a bit sad, given the availability on Hainan. But for the pricepoint of the hotel I dont want to complain much. The food was alright and will definitely get you full. Around the hotel are many shops, restaurants and streetvendors that provide decent choices for dinner.
Now to the big plus point, the free of charge clothes washing service (basic washing and drying). Quick and efficient, and you always have fresh clothes given the hot climate. Lastly the hotel also offers a free afternoon tea and snack service at the top floor. Again the choices are very limited, but it is still a nice thing to have.

There are many delicious snacks in the night market. I recommend grilled oysters. The water spinach in the fried skewers is delicious.
