Guest UserWe have just spent a wonderful 5 days here and it was a blissfully peaceful and tranquil stay. At first we were a little unsure about how remote and cut off it seemed but within a very short time, we had completely forgotten about the outside world. Shantaa resort had everything you could need for a truly relaxing stay. The villas are super comfortable, spotlessly clean and set in lovely gardens which roll down to the sea. The bathroom is an outdoor room which has its own pretty little tropical garden feature. Everything is tastefully furnished, the beds are very comfortable and everything is kept lovely and clean. The outside terrace has beanbag sofas which are great for lounging on. The pool area is great, nice beds and plenty of towels and bottled water available.
The restaurant serves an à la carte breakfast which was really lovely. A lot of thought and effort goes into how the food and drink is made and presented. There is an extensive dinner menu and all the meals we took were of an excellent standard and really very inexpensive. The cafe, which has a lovely setting by the sea, serves lunches and drinks throughout the day and everything we ordered was super fresh and of a very high standard. All in all, a wonderful stay, we felt we had been on a health retreat!

The resort has just re-branded. They are developing and improving their resorts , facilities, services.
There is high speed internet all area and strength signals. The most strength mobile service signals is AIS but they just equipped more for True/DTAC.
The room is clean and comfortable bed.
I recommend you bring your soap, shampoo …
(Hotel provided but not good enough for me).
There is personal beach in the front of resort. It really nice but many big stones. If you would like to swim in the sea, I suggest you swim far from the beach area.

Guest UserEasy to get to from the port.
Upon arrival nice greeting and drink- the kids liked it. Room allocated quickly and the person who met us was great.
Beach is excellent- sunset is beautiful. Pier great to jump from.
Swimming pool warm with seats to relax in.
Room was good, air conditioning worked. Ignoring broken toilet seat and broken soap dispenser- the room was fine and close to the beach, restaurant and shop. The room has WiFi and the tv has Netflix access if you have an account and YouTube.
Motorbike hire is easy- check for bold tyres. We had a puncture almost immediately. My fault for not checking carefully enough .
Service in the restaurant was disappointing- I had to ask each day for coffee. The staff pulled faces when asked as if it was too much trouble. It was awkward asking 2 days in a row. Both staff were equally difficult.
I understand it is low season - not so many customers but they need to pay more attention to diners, play some music and have a simple welcoming look. Breakfast was not so good. If you want eggs or omelettes cooked- good luck! Everything seemed too much trouble. We had dinner there on the first night. The service was terrible but the food was nice and well presented.
Booking trips or boats out was easy and well organised. It was strange that this was so good when the service in the restaurant in the same place was so poor.
I personally would not stay here again, there are nicer hotels along the coast that have better service and facilities around the same price point, I didn’t take many photos here, it felt soulless. I was happy to leave.
The island is excellent. I’m glad we explored it but I would never stay at Sea Far again.

maxim_mokhnachevOverall, it's a great spot, but only for a couple of nights: the beach and sea are stunning, the tents are stylish and interesting, and the breakfasts are decent. We had lunch and dinner there too, but it was pretty mediocre, both the Thai food and the pizza. By the third day, it loses its charm, and you get tired of the shared toilets and showers. We were happy to move to a more standard accommodation for our remaining two nights (which we had planned in advance).

Guest UserCaptain Hook is the perfect place to stay if you are looking for peace and quiet. The villas are nice, we stayed in a room with its own mini pool. Staff is extremely helpful and friendly. The hotel can help you arrange boat rides, scooters to rent, ferry tickets, etc. Some amenities the resort offers are massages, fire shows, snorkeling, kayaking, and skiing. You should know that there is no beach in front of the resort, but it’s a quick swim/canoe to the beach across from the resort. The restaurant and bar sits right on the water and offers various western and eastern options. We would definitely recommend the fried chicken wings! It was a great holiday and we would choose this resort again when we travel to Koh Kood in the future.

We've stayed at this hotel many times over the past 20 years. In the last year alone, we've been twice: 7 days in April (one room for two) and 9 days in January (two rooms with family). The hotel is quite old but well-maintained. Its main selling point is its central location, and it's a proper hotel, not just a guesthouse on the island. Breakfast is perfectly edible. The Wi-Fi is slow, but it works. Room cleaning is good and done daily. I've stayed in almost all room types. If you want to be right on the beach, the best are the Villa Beach Front rooms from S2 to S6. Q (Queen) and K (King) rooms are good for families with many children or if you prefer to all stay together. D (Deluxe) rooms are for couples or families with one child. All these rooms face the sea. There are also 4 smaller C (City View) rooms with windows facing the road, which are the most budget-friendly. Message the hotel before you arrive, and they'll pick you up at the pier for 20 Baht per person, and drop you off too. Check-out is at 11:00 AM, 12:00 PM at the latest. If you want to check out later, it's best to book an extra day. A suggestion for the hotel: please wipe down the very top shelves in the closet where the umbrellas are kept sometimes. It feels like we're the only ones who do it in our room. But it's not a major issue; the other shelves are clean. Rooms have safes and kettles. Generally, rooms have one large bed and a small sofa. You can book through Trip.com or pay the hotel upon arrival. I've done both, but Trip.com is easier – book it and forget about it. If you pay at the hotel, cash is better as cards sometimes don't work. If you have any questions, email the hotel; they usually reply within a day.

We had an amazing 4 night stay at the Mak Trat and I can’t begin to say how wonderful, new, clean and well kept this place is. We arranged a hotel pick up from the Ao Nid port and within 5-10 of our arrival they came to pick us up, and took our luggage straight to the room.
The villas are extremely charming and the beds are very very very comfortable. The breakfast is delicious as well and the food at their own restaurant, and the amenities like the swimming pool area are very clean, beautiful and inviting. The staff is very kind and helpful informing you about day trips and also, you can rent a scooter at the hotel itself. We’re in love with this place I would 100% stay there again. Highly recommend!

NoomNim PI truly appreciated the warm, service-minded attitude of the team—especially the Front Office staff and Khun Alex, who were absolutely outstanding.
The complimentary bead bracelet given at check-in was such a charming and thoughtful touch—I loved it!
In-room amenities were carefully curated and genuinely impressive. The large woven tote bag, plush slippers, and soft bathrobes made the stay feel extra comfortable, while the coffee machine added a luxurious touch that far exceeded expectations for this price point. Although the property shows signs of age, I believe a renovation or a few thoughtful updates would significantly elevate the overall guest experience.
